reconstituted HCG shelf life - 100 days?
the only compounding pharmacy in my area that does hcg will only give it to me pre-mixed...and 10,000 ius at a time. I only use 500 iu a week, so i told them i was worried about it losing its potency before i was able to use it all. On the phone they told me that they have had their hcg independantly tested and that it has a 100 days shelf life. That seems a lot longer than everything ive ever read? Regardless, it is still going to take me 150 days to use it all.
the premixed stuff they gave me has some extra ingredients, im guessing maybe this is why it has a longer shelf life? im just worried because ive read that once mixed it only lasts 45-60 days?
Ive read about some people pre drawing it into needles and then freezing it until needed...would this be a good idea?
here are all the ingredients on the list:
gonadotrophin, chorionic ep
Mannitol usp powder
benzyl alcohol nf
sodium phosphate, dibasic usp dried powder
sodium phosphate monobasic anhydrous usp
hydrochloric acid acs
water for injection, usp
sodium hydroxide 1% (w/v) aqueous solution
water for irrigation
should i freeze it?

You can freeze pre loaded syringes for extended life.

Well, shelf life varies depending on where you draw the line. The typical standard is "when does it start to lose strengh?" But if it takes 2 months to go from 100% to 95% (my random figure), then is the HCG no good at 2 months of age? Of course not. It just isn't 100%.
I have often had HCG for 3 months. I could tell a little difference when I started a new, fresh vial but the 3 month stuff was still beneficial.

Your doc can also write the script as refillable after a certain # of days. My HCG comes in 10,000 IU's also but not mixed. Doc writes it to be refilled every 45 days. Check with your insurance.

I went through this as well. I just ended up requesting that they send 10,000 iu split into multiple vials instead of just one. they keep for quite a long time if you haven't reconstituted them

Just wondering where you get your hcg that they split it like that. Could you PM me?

the problem is most compounding pharmacies only mix 10,000 ius at a time, they refused to do 5,000 when i asked them to. freezing is the only way to preserve it. or simply buy the dry hCG from overseas at 5,000 ius per vile/ampule and mix it at your convenience.

I may not be wise but I do have a pharmacy that has no issues giving you 5000iu vials, shipping next day... anyone who needs the info let me know, its not like a secret or anything. They are located in San Diego, ship anywhere with script on file, 55 for 5,000iu I believe (honestly cant remember)
