Brain fog after 6 weeks or TRT

I'm new to this forum and wanted to ask a few questions regarding how I've been feeling. So I started TRT approx 5 1/2 weeks ago. The first 5 days I felt great then on day 6 the crash came on me very heavy. Since then I've been feeling very fatigued and have had brain fog like before I started. The doc put me on 100mgs of test cyp weekly. He also told me to take Dhea 25mg, pregnenolone 50mg along with 2000iu of vit D. I can't understand why I'm not feeling better. I had my labs done and see the doc on the 21st so ill find out what's happening. Just wanted to get some of your input on it if possible. Thanks

TRT is not as fast acting as some of the "testimonial" stories we (selectively?) hear.

5 and a half weeks is really not a very long time. It's best to keep track on a chart with various areas you are trying to improve and review it periodically to kind of give yourself some objectivity.

What T level did you start out at?

Do you know what your SHBG is?

Do you know what your E2 level is (from current labs since starting TRT)?

If you are feeling at all better, then take that as a positive sign. It's normal for things to take longer to get better on TRT as your body slowly starts un-doing the damage of poorer health from likely yeas of living that way.

The good news is that you seem to be on a decent protocol that addresses common deficiencies men have.

Did your doc talk to you at all about nutrition? Have you been making nutrition changes since beginning TRT?

I go in one the 21st to go over my labs. These are the first labs since I started. I have my labs that were ran at the UW medical center when I was trying to seek treatment for my low T here are the numbers from that. (not sure if it will help) I'm also not up to date on the lingo yet but trying

    TSH 2.123iu Range .400-5.0
    Estradiol Lvl <20pg/ml Range 0-47
Follicle Stim HL 5iu Range 0/14
    Luteinizing HL 3iu Range 0-14
    Tot T 2.2ng/ml Range 2.0-7.3
    Free test 55pg/ml Range 30-140
    Cortisol Stim Lvl 10.1
    SHBG 18nmol/L Range 13-90

These are the numbers he gave me and he didn't want to start me on HRT. So I found a doctor that would off these levels. Initially the new doc put me on HCG 2500 ius biweekly. The HCG made me almost pass out on the second day of the secone shot so they told me to stop using that. I then went in and he decided to put me on 100mg of test E7D. He has spoken a little about Nutrition but not a lot mostly he was talking about upping my intake of protein and he told me to stop chewing tabacco (easier said then done) I haven't been feeling all that hot since about week 4 and over the past few days the brain fog has gotten pretty bad. Along with the DHEA and PREG I'm taking 100 mgs of zinc a day. The zinc seems to help the headaches a little but other than that not a lot.
On the other forum I go on they were saying that I should try and get put on a program of E3d or E5D which I think would be better since the 5-6 day crash sucks..

    Thanks for all the input

You might want to try injecting half your dose every 3.5 days.

Are you still chewing or did you quit? If you quit, how long ago?

I'm still chewing and I'm going to talk with my doctor about increasing the frequency of my dosing. Although today I haven't taken any other supplements and I'm feeling better than I have all week.

just asked about the chew because I thought the withdrawal might be causing you to feel light headed or foggy.

    Good luck in quitting.
Chantix makes quitting pretty easy but the side effects can be brutal.

I'd like to see E2 and Cortisol along with a complete and thorough Thyroid panel.
