Is it normal...
To have gained 40-ish lbs. over the course of 1 year? Without having done much different than previous years and having high metabolism all of my life?
I was diagnosed for TRT and have been on for about a month now, but weight has only steadily kept increasing. I've gotten checked for a total and comprehensive blood panel and urine screening and all the endos/docs say nothing is wrong, I just need TRT and to exercise more. Just wondering if any endos on here had some insight into this.
Thanks!

Gain as in FAT? I would get your E2 checked. You may need an AI and be gaining water weight/bloat.

No endos here as far as I know, we're it! Post your entire BW with ranges so we can see if there is something contributing to your weight gain. Also tell us what is your complete protocol and exercise routine.

40 pounds in a year is not the norm for anyone really. You're talking about a significant % increase regardless of height.
Unless someone was very malnourished, I wouldn't expect 40 pounds. Were you underweight before the sudden gain?
TRT is likely just 1 player in your otherwise unique situation. Be that as it may, TRT is typically associated with a slight gain in muscle mass and a loss of bodyfat. This usually settles around 1 year or two. But even then the average is not near 40 pounds.

I will re-post BW. However, there have been 2 sets done. The first, which put me on TRT and displayed 273 T levels, was done in the afternoon, fasted. The second set was done in the morning, fasted, as the endo said my test levels will be peaked at that time. Both show lower than norm test, the 1st set actually shows it below the range. Unfortunately, I haven't really, truly exercised in the past 4 years. But I'm 21, and have had problems gaining weight my entire life until now. Base-line weight for me was 190-195 until this past year I went from slowly having gained a bit which bumped me into the 205ish range to over the past 12 months gaining 40-50lbs. It's pretty scary and the amount of food I've been consuming/craving is out of this world. I've been taking Chlorella and other liver/kidney cleanse herbs, and have been regularly taking my TRT for the past 3 weeks or so, but I haven't seen any change!

well, besides your low T i didn't see anything else out of range, maybe your thyroid is a little over active. not enough tests to make a better assessment but i think your low T problem is partially related to your poor diet and lack of exercise. having said that for your age its still very low. you will need more tests run, see Finding a Physician thread for details on what BW you need, also a pituitary MRI to rule out tumors and such.

Even when I monitored myself and ate relatively healthy, I was packing on weight. For a while before I got on the TRT, it felt like my actual stomach was stretching the skin and I was bloated and very uncomfortable for months... My father was diagnosed with Low T just recently, but he's like near-50. Also, endo said that MRIs aren't necessary since the BW shows good (outside of the Low T). The LH and other things were all normal (psa/prolactin etc). He keeps saying that the Low T will get corrected with TRT, I just need to start exercising. But to me, it didn't seem normal for me to be fine for 3 years, only gain maybe 10 lbs. (and that was A LOT for me, never gained any weight without working out/protein) without working out, then within 12 months to gain 40-50ish lbs. Not much changed from about my diet at all, no exercise added/dropped. Just plain old gain 50lbs/year for no apparent reason.

I gained 10lbs in a month after starting TRT, unfortunately not all of it was muscle.

Really sounds like diet issues, as Bass said body fat can reduce Test levels. Get to the gym and clean up your diet and retest blood work in 4-6 months.
Wouldn't rush into getting medicated.

TRT definitely isn't going to be the cause of sudden fat gain. Like previously mentioned, it is either water, or a bad diet.
