Starting TRT - few questions onn test subQ needle size & HCG dosage

    Hey guys,

I was just given a script for test-C yesterday and have a few questions before I start my journey.

I will be injecting 100mg per week split in 2 doses of 50mg every 3.5 days via subq injections. Costco carries 28ga syringes in 1/2" or 5/16" length. Which is preferred for subQ? I can also go 25ga, 30ga or even 31ga, but read about the higher guage needles creating too much pressure injecting oils. As for 25ga, I am open but don't mind the slower pull/injection time, so I figured 28ga would be the perfect compromise.

For HCG injections, I read some inject twice a week at 500iu each injection the day before test injection (planned protocal), yet others inject as little as 250iu each injection two to three times a week. What is the best way to determine my ideal dosage? Also, what size syringe should I use for HCG injections? Being that it is not oil based, I should be fine with say a 30ga or 31ga of 5/16" in length?

    Thanks in advance,
    Dave

I believe if you have a script your doc will go with the details with you, He can't give some to you and you don't know how to use it.
Second test is intramuscular and not sub cutaneous, the oil won't go Truth a 30 or 31ga.
hcg is 250iu 48 hours and 250ui 24 hrs prior to test.

There are plenty of guys who inject Test subq, some of them on this site....

i would use a 27-28g sized needle for subQ. I use a 25 for thigh muscle injections

    Thanks

I was actually going to update my other thread monday as I wanted to wait till I got all scripts filled...

But since you ask, yes, all went well. Told him my sysmptoms, logged into my kaiser account online and showed him all my blood labs (most were recent - 1 week up to 3 months old) so we did not need to do any lab work. He recommended a compunded cream with DHEA mixed in, but I advised I already take DHEA and would like to inject. He then said 100mg weekly is ideal but I brought up what I have learned here on the forums and told him I would like to inject 50mg twice weekly via subQ and he was ok with that. States if estrogen goes up he will write script for Armidex but will worry about that till I get updated blood labs in 4-6 weeks after my first injection. As for HCG , he is familiar with it and used it for that HCG diet, but does not use it for the purpose of testicle shrinking/fertality reasons, but was open to my suggestion as I stated I want to have kids soon and do not wan't the shrinkage. He advised me to just speak with the nurse and she would set that up for me. When talking to her, she was fully familiar with the TRT purposes that are mentioned here in the stickies and stated it's pretty cheap and she can get me 10,000iu or 6,000iu vials already mixed. I then stated shelf life and how most would go bad so she is going to see if she can get me a set of 1,000iu bottles that are not mixed... I will hear back about this on Monday which is why I was holding off on updating my other thread.

So all in all, I will be on the suggested protocal most her recommend (test, HCG, DHEA & Pregenolone), can self inject and was able to get my test (200mg/ml - 10ml vial) filled at costco for $60 ($65 for non members).

If I hadn't have done any research and just wen't in with no knowledge, I would most likely be on a cream with no HCG, so it does pay off to go in with knowledge. On a brighter note, he is pretty open so as times change, he will listen and is not stuck in the old school way of thinking like most Dr's.

Hope this helps and feel free to let me know if you have any further questions.

    Dave

If I go with the 28ga as planned, would you suggest the 5/16" (.8mm) or the 1/2" (12.7mm)? I plan to inject in stomach and love handles, possibly glutes.

    Thanks in advance,
    Dave

Hi Dave, I've been injecting Test-Cyp SubQ since March, 3 x per week @ .40ml each time. I use BD Ultra-Fine Insulin Syringes, 1/2cc, 29 gauge, 12.7mm/1/2" needles, and I haven't had a bump, or a bruise yet after nearly 100 injections. *knocks on wood. It takes me about 5 minutes or so to load the syringe, and about 10-15 seconds to slowly inject.

Of course I do have quite a bit of extra "padding" around my midsection, but still, the injections are painless, and I think I may have gotten a few drops of blood afterward on less than 10 of the injections so far.

    Just to let you know.

I do not take any HcG at this time.

    Hope this helps.

Couldn't you buy insulin syringes with different needle sizes like 25 gauge to fill than say 27 gauge to inject?

Or back fill them, which I did for a few months. Just make sure everything is sterile

They actually come with permanently attached needles in a box of 100 for $35.00. It doesn't really take that long to load them, so it's no big deal. LOL. Five minutes to load is probably on the long end. I've gotten into a "flow", so it's cool. haha

    Thanks for the suggestion though.

Think I should go with the 5/16" (8mm) length to insure I do not hit a muscle? The skin is not that thick so no matter how deep in the fat you get, it's all the same, no?

That should work okay, Dave. I've never hit a muscle...don't even know if I HAVE any "abs" LOL, but 5/16" (8mm) should be okay.
