    Help with Lab results

I recently did some lab work due to low T symptoms. I'M 45 years old, 6ft, 225lbs.

    Free Test: 1st lab- 12.2 pg/ml (6.8-21.5)
    DHT: 26 NG/DL 2nd lab (30-85)
    SHBG: 2nd lab- 10 nmol/L (16.5-55.9)
    Estradiol: 19 pg/ml 2nd lab (8.0-35)
    Estrone- 26 pg/ml 2nd lab (10-50)
    Prolactin: 6.1 ng/ml 2nd lab (4.0-15.2)

    TSH: 2.490 uIU/mL 2nd lab (.450-4.500)
    Cortisol AM: 8.2 ug/dl 2nd lab (6.2-19.4)
    DHEA: 164 ng/dL 2nd lab (31-701)
    Glucose- 85 mg/dl (65-99)

some other results that had high or low results:

    neutrophils- 36% L (40-74)
    eos- 9% H (0-7)
    eos absolute- .7 x10e3/ul H (0.0-0.4)
    bilirubin total- 1.6 mg/dl H (0.0-1.2)
    cholesterol- 225 mg/dl H (100-199)
    triglycerides- 191 mg/dl H (0-149)
    ldl cholesterol calc- 142 mg/dl H (0-99)

I did not list all the CBC or Metabolic panel results they were in range.

My Doctor has put me on Androgel 1.62 at 4 pumps a day with follow up labs in 6 weeks

What can you see from these results?

Please put the ranges for each test in there.

I imagine these results are from a period where you were not on any testosterone .

From a cursory look, it appears you very well might have sluggish sex, thyroid, and adrenal hormones.

That's a pretty hefty dose to start on. Did you both talk about starting on 4 pumps? (The drug is typically started at 2 pumps a day.) Most doctors titrate up as opposed to down, but its not necessarily insanity to start at 4.

    Updated lab ranges.

Yes test were run with no prior tetosterone.
I hade a very stressfull 2010-2011. I was drinking 2-3 Rockstars a day and a poor diet of burgers, mexican food and pizza. I started noticing low test symptoms 8-10 months ago, tired and no motivation to workout, low libido, fat around mid section, anxiety, brain fog and insomnia.
I'm now working out again, taking a multi-vitamin, extra zinc and vitamin D.
Do you recommend taking some DHEA and Pregnalone?

The Doctor decided to start on 4 pumps a day. I left his office and researched this site. I then returned a week later to request more labs and to inquire about an AI and HCG which did not go well.

Do think it is possibly the thyroid causing all this or is it just age related? I did request T3 and T4 tests, but they were not tested.

4 pumps of agel should put you at a good level. Aggressive by the doc like HRT said. Thyroid can be related but we'd need to see a complete panel to assess that. Post up your BW results on this thread when you get them.

Supplementing with DHEA and Preg (micronized) and Vit D3 would be a great idea.
