TRT Long Term Affects
Can someone point me to articles on the long term(20 years or more) affects of TRT? I would also like to know what professionals have to say about the fact that testosterone naturally spikes multiple times throughout the day but TRT keeps it steadily high.
thanks

TRT was not fashionable 20 years ago. Many of the studies are recent, NOT 20 years old.
Additionally, testosterone is released gradually and slowly over time, and NOT spiked as GH is spiked. There is some thinking that male puberty experiences testosterone spikes, but i have never seen one reliable study to support such a claim.
TRT usually takes about two years to fully realize the benefits, such as body resculpting, improved LBM, improved bone density, etc.
Let me know if any other questions?

The effects are very individual. Especially as far as changes in LBM. Ive already put a lot of my lean weight back on that I had lost after starting this med that caused my low test. I've only been on Test for 6 weeks now, but my weight keeps going up. Obviously muscle memory played a role, as well as genetics and having the right amount of test to facilitate it.

Read the sticky at the top of the forum on how long things take...it's interesting.

After only about 3 years into TRT I'd say the following are "affects" (for me anyways):
-Better Boners
-Better Sex Life
-Better Attitude
-Better Outlook on Life
-Better Quality of Life
-Better Body Composition (with proper training)
-Better Overall Health
-Better Relationships
-Increased Strength
-Increased Confidence
-Increased Drive
-Increased Earnings Potential
Nothing negative to report really & I've probably left some 'good' things out. This is non-scientific of course.

The long term effects also concern me, not to mention how difficult it may be to stay on trt when I'm old and decrepit. However without TRT I'd be unemployed and in rough shape. My two biggest symptoms of low T were loss of the ability to concentrate and depression, sometimes severe.
If that's the alternative I'll stay on TRT.
I'm on injections and my libido still changes on a daily cycle... morning wood and all that. I think there's more to it than just the variation in T levels.

I think positive effects depend on lots of variables as everyone points out.
IMO - one has to maintain a healthy diet and exercise to go along with TRT. The list of recommended supplements & vitamins that a good specialist will point you to is a big help also.
For me, i started this at a younger age and I had some good gains to build on from earlier in life. i noticed many positive effects by 6 weeks.

pretty much. there are subtle things going on you can't see or feel that can take years, like the improvement in bone density.
of course, there are things you notice right off the bat, like improvements in sexual performance and libido.
there really is a lot going on when you begin TRT.

If your dose your trt properly there are no negative long term sides only benefits IMHO. What causes the negatives sides is overdosing your trt which isnt needed IMHO.
