    Question Sex & TRT

I see many people commenting about their great "sexual performance" while on TRT. Got me to thinking. Is this an indicator that TRT is working or not working? I know when I started it I saw a difference like being 25 again. But after 5 months on it has waned to where it was before being ok.

Gym performance is still good however. Maybe because I am not using HCG or E2 blockers yet?* Maybe because I'm on a daily hair pill now? Maybe because my T dose is lower now? Maybe someone can advise.

    Rob

*Monday I am meeting with a new male dr. I found this new dr by following the advice in a sticky on this forum. It suggested going to a compound pharmacist and asking for a dr who prescribes Hcg and AI's.

There's always a rush when you start TRT. Once what's left of your natural system shuts down and you get used to TRT, not so much. Many guys need to up their dose after a month or so, especially if they're on gel.

Hair pills work by knocking down DHT. DHT is more androgenic than test, and it's a large component of what you feel. Less DHT, less libido. I'd research hair pills carefully before taking them.

WOW! Thanks for the tip. I'm never taking one again. Geez I just read the info at propeciahelp.com and felt ill. Hopefully after 1 month of usage I haven't done too much damage.

Dopamine rush when a man first starts TRT being low for so long...kicks libido good but as noted it will settle down.

    What's in these "hair pills"?

You're not in the clear yet. Most report awesome libidos+erections after cessation of Propecia but after about 2 weeks their entire endocrine system crashes(this is why it's called post-Finasteride syndrome). If you make it beyond that point I would say you're good and to never touch the stuff again.

    Edit: quote from Propeciahelp website:

    "What is the Post-Finasteride Syndrome?

The following outlines the common pattern experienced by those who suffer from this syndrome:

brief resolution of side effects within 10-20 days after quitting Finasteride (as 5AR2 enzyme activity/DHT supposedly "returns" to baseline), followed by

a complete endocrine system crash whereby Testosterone , LH and FSH hormones plummet to hypogonadal levels within weeks/months of discontinuation, along with numerous other imbalances such as elevated estradiaol, TSH, Prolactin, SHBG; below range 3a-diol-G levels; below range Vitamin D levels, followed by

simultaneous & rapid emergence of a commonly shared hypogonadal symptomatic profile, followed by

ongoing, irreversible, persistent side effects with little to variable symptomatic improvement -- even years after quitting"

Not to scare you, this only happens in a small percentage of men but it's good to be aware in case you start to notice any changes.
