    Intro

Hello all. I posted an intro in the intro thread when I first created a profile, but thought since this particular forum seems to have a "life of its own" outside the AAS/diet world, that I introduce myself here....particularly since TRT seems to be in my immediate future.

You can see my profile for basic stats. A little additional info about me, no prior AAS use or TRT, just had BW ran last week which was less than stellar, i.e., lipids up, Test down, E2 elevated, Vit D extremely low. T3 was fine. Doc really anguished over cutting a script for test right then and there but decided to confer with another colleague first but did give me a script for D. I'm looking to pull down lipids right now. That's my main goal but IMO its gonna be a tough go with the low T and elevated E2. I have 3 months to get this done via diet/exercise then the talk concerning statins will begin...which I fully intend to resist, at least at this point. My lipids are up but not at "panic button" stage. Seems many health care professionals LOVE to hand out statins. Was intending an AAS cycle after New Year's; however, I think I"d be much better served to postpone and tidy up some other issues first.

I've learned a ton by simply reading the stickies this afternoon and intend to continue my knowledge quest here in the HRT section. Its blatantly obvious some real experts hang out here. I truly look forward to getting to know as many of you as I can. Thanks for having me and please feel free to contact me if you'd like.

Lipids are best controlled by the correct diet- look into hypoglycemic diet- regular exercise and supplements.

Look to add Red Yeast Rice with CoQ10 as well.

Sometimes all the best remedies won't work and scrips may be the only but last resort.

Welcome to the "other side". Fully agree with you to hold off on the New Year's cycle and get some things in order first. It won't take long, and I know you will be grateful you did when you look back at it down the road.

If you feel up to posting your labs, I'm sure you will get a lot of comments and suggestions.

BTW, good job on taking the initiative with the stickies!! The more you can learn, the better off you will be, and again it will be a huge pay-off down the road for taking the time to invest right now.

Welcome Odin! Doc wrote you for Drisdol I assume? Good stuff. Look into DHEA micronized as well for lipids. If you end up having to use cholesterol meds look into non-statins as well. Good guys over here. Stick around!

Gentlemen, thank you all for the words of welcome, advice, direction and support. It is most welcome and appreciated. As I said, I look forward to becoming a part of your "subculture" of HRT. LOL. I didn't realize the amount of highly detailed info in this forum until I delved a little deeper. Thanks to all of you for your willingness to help folks like me.

Kel, not sure exactly if the script was specifically Drisdol as it only says "vitamin D" on the bottle. Couldn't make out what the actual script said...damn Doc writing!! LOL. It is an eight week course of 1.25mg taken once per week. (Little blue gel caps.) I've only taken one dose, next one due next Sat morning. Nothing too noticeable at this point...I'm assuming it will be a cumulative effect with more noticeable effects in 2-3 weeks??? Thanks again guys.

Would anyone care to chime in as to which products (brand specific) they feel to be the most effective. Don't mind paying for quality stuff. If my genetics end up fighting against me in this battle, I'll definitely push the non-statins to the doc as a last ditch effort before going down the lipitor path. Thanks...
