How do I know when to use an AI?

Is there a specific point in the E2 levels that I look for in my test or is there more to it?

    Thanks in advance.

Start taking an AI at the beginning of your cycle to keep it from ever rising. Get blood work done after a while (not sure if you are talking long or short ester) to check your levels and adjust from there.

OP - Are you discussing taking an AI for an aas cycle or for TRT?

    If aas; follow Johnny's advise.

If for TRT only BW will tell you when and if at all.

Crap, I was in the "new posts" section and thought this was in the Q&A, not TRT section. My fault.

I agree with gdevine...blood work is the way to go. I don't require an AI on TRT.

Yes it's for TRT. I was wanting to know what to look for in the bloodwork to know if I'm getting close to needing an AI. My GP is in over his head and I'm trying to cover my bases.

You need to run labs, specifically the E2 sensitive assay to see where you sit currently. Part of it will also tether on what your protocol is, and if you're prone to higher E2 conversion.

Post your stats, any health issues/medications, and your protocol, and your labs. How long on the protocol? The E2 should have been taken at baseline, then 6 weeks later if you're on cyp/enath.s

If none of this has been happening, this YOU need to start square 1 and get with a doctor who will diagnose and treat your condition properly.

    Thanks for the response Vet.

I am in a rural area so I'm stuck with my GP for now. Just started therapy and he has me on one shot a month of Test Cyp 200mg. I know that's awful but I've printed out a lot of info on here and my GP is usually pretty open-minded so I'm going to try and talk him into once a week with HCg included. Haven't found an A4M certified Dr within 300 miles of me so far so I'm trying to have all my ducks in a row next time I see my Doc to get this thing on the right track.

He is re-testing me at 6 weeks which will be two weeks into my second shot. I have to wait til then to talk to him again and try and talk him into following Dr. Crisler's model. I'm even going to look into getting a phone consultation between my doc and him if they don't listen. I haven't received a copy of my test results yet, I just know that my Test was at 180 and is very low for a otherwise pretty healthy 31 yo. Once I get the full results I will post them. For the time being I'm just wanting to educate myself as best as possible so I can make a strong case when I go back. I live 5 hours from Houston, so if they get the long-distance clinic up and running soon I may go that route. But I would still hate to be "doing it wrong" for 3 months until then. I doubt my Gp used the sensitive assay for estradiol, I wish I had found this site sooner to ask for it, but I was under the impression that's what you watch for and wasn't looking for some hard numbers on when to use an AI so I could bring it up to my doc if need be.
