Question on Clomid/HCG as alternative to TRT
I am thinking about doing this. Been on Test cream and HCG (100iu) daily for 4 months and went from 300-400 total test. E2 is super low(8). Joints hurt but overall feel better then before, felt just awful before so keep that in mind. Should I try clomid by itself, Clomid and HCG, or Clomid, Nolva, and HCG? Also wife and I are trying for kids. Sperm was good 2 months ago and would like to keep it that way.
I was thnking 12.5-25 mg clomid every day, and 100-200 iu HCG daily. Does HCG and Clomid work good together for this purpose or adversely? Ive also already got the Nolva(Tamoxifen ) and HCG so that is easy.
Please help, going to see my Doc next Wednesday and want some info for her. She will do just about whatever I want.

clomid for long term is hard on the body, you can do 4 weeks along with hCG then stop clomid and continue hCG for another 2 months. if i were you i'd do hCG mono therapy at 250 iu eod for three months. since your e2 is so low i wouldn't worry about e2 spikes at this point, 6 weeks later do BW and see where your levels are and take AI as needed. BTW clomis and nolva will not help you with elevated e2, only AI (anastrozole) can stop e2 conversion. also look into supplementing with vitamin D3 and DHED.

Thanks Bass I appreciate it. I already take 800 iu a day of d3, should I take more? Also does it matter if the dhea is micronized or not? Ive heard that it does but all I have is the cheaper stuff you can get at Walgreens.
If I try something with no test Im thinking about going all out and do clomid and hcg for 6 weeks and see if I can get the major increase that I could not get on test cream plus HCG. I'm hoping 600. My thinking and it may be wrong is that if HCG wth test only raised me 100 points what could HCG by itself do?
At this point I am almost hoping I need an AI, at lest then my joint wouldn't hurt like a mother.

i believe hCG mono therapy should be at higher doses, i'll let the more experienced members recommend a dose for you. i suggest you take 10,000 iu vit. D3, not sure how the walmart stuff is but LEF stuff is pretty good. Yes micronized DHEA is best.

I have done extensive research on Clomid. I have read about guys who have been taking 25mg/day or 25mg every other day for many many years with no sides. One of the guys I read about has been on it for seven years. The thing is Clomid only seems to work on guys who are secondary hypogonadal. If you are primary it probably wont work. Ive been on it since October and I am quite happy with how I feel. Also If you decide to stop the Testosterone therapy you might want to consider doing a HPTA jump start to get the boys working again. If your doctor doesnt want to prescribe the clomid for you go online and buy it! I bought my clomid online for about $150 for a two year supply! My doctor did not want to prescribe the clomid for me (at first) however, he has since changed his mind because I showed him my research and he has seen the results!

I've been on 12.5mg clomid m,w,f for 5 months. Labs are great. I feel great. It has been exactly what I was hoping it would be. Remember with clomid less is more. I take nothing else and have had no issues with elevated e2.

I am a sixty one year old male athlete wanting to raise my testosterone using Clomid. From age 45 to 58 I was on TRT 100mg per week but stopped due to a bout with prostate cancer, in which my prostate gland was removed via DaVinci robot. Following three years of zero indications of relapse and a post surgical biopsy report indicating all margins were clear I was advised by my doctors that it was safe to try TRT again.
But after reading dozens and dozens of posted studies touting Clomid as a better alternative to shots, creams and gels I began with 25mg of Clomid per day for two months. Before beginning, my test level was 530 and estrodiol 37. At the end of the two months, my test jumped to 740 and estrodiol to 47. Then I stopped for a month to see what would happen and am now awaiting those test results.
My concern is what the rise in estrodiol will have on my body and so forth. That is, will I develop breasts or have other negative symptoms? Is 47 high for estrodiol?

I'm awaiting pituitary mri results along with BW (find out 30th) this Endo I went to in Cumming GA wanted me to come off all TRT protocol and prescribed Hcg mono at 2000 IU twice a week! I was like whoa thought about trying it but after speaking with some knowledgeable members here, I've decided to stay with my TRT doc and get back on protocol. Will get results and go from there.
My doc originally had me on 200mg per week, .5 mgs anastrozole twice week, Hcg 600iu twice a week, and CLOMID 25mg daily.
I stressed fertility factor to her, wife and I are trying to have our 1st we r both 30. Clomid worked well for me, nothing major. Minor vision "sparkS" that went away after a while, and maybe a little moodiness. Nothing unbearable, my sperm count was in average field after 6 months of this protocol, despite 0.2 LH and 0.2 FSH.

My husband has a low sperm count at about 1.3 mil. We are trying to get pregnant for over one year. I am doing some research about what he should try to increase his numbers. We cant afford the fertility clinic we were referred to and insurance doesn't cover any tests or treatments. So we are going to need to save up.
Clomid or HCG ? One lady I spoke with said her husband took 250ui 2-3 times a week of HCG for 3-4 months and this in addition to vitamins increased his count and resulted in a pregnancy. She also recommended Clomid 25-50 mg a day (25days on 5 days off) and 1mg Arimidex daily for 3 months as an alternative treatment. He has not taken any steroids for about 8 years but still works out regularly.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Both of those are probably worth a shot. I would start with Clomid at 25mg per day, and Arimidex if needed. Not 1mg per day though. Probably that much a week divided in two or three doses. I would test for E2 after a couple of weeks to see if it's even needed.

I agree.
Cindy, others with more knowledge and experience can comment on your questions about pregnancy but I would suggest you NOT play around with Arimidex - especially at the excessive dose you mention above. It is an extremely powerful medication which I would advise you develop a healthy respect for.

Badidea... I've just prescribed similar (low t at 150 (250 -1100), I am 29 and would like to have kids that is why endo reccomended clomid instead of direct TRT). Just started 25mg ED. My QUESTION IS... glad to see if gave you good results, did you experience any positive effects in the gym or with physique changes? Its hard to find guys that give a Clomid review from just a TRT point of view. I'm interested to know, please PM me if more suitable. Body fatt loss, lean muscle gains, strenght? Or did it just help with the fatigue and depression aspects?

I would do 250 IUs of HCG every day for 2 months (your body builds up antibodies to HCG after that) and skip the Clomid and DHEA. Up the D3 to 6,000 IUs and take 50mg of zinc/3mg copper. Also follow all the "natural" ways to increase test (sleep, reduce stress, HIT, heavy compound movements, etc). You could also try Tongat Ali 1,000mg per day, although it doesn't help everyone.
