Going to blood bank tomorrow to give blood.....................

Going to blood bank tomorrow to give blood after 3 weeks on TRT. The blood bank has two types of donations, whole blood or double red cells. Donate whole blood and I can't donate again in 2 months. Donate double red, they take more blood but can't donate for three months. Which is the best way for "me" and how often should I donate?

Also would HMG be better than HCG ?

Double reds require you to wait 3 months before you go again. So is it better to give less every two months or more every three?

With the Red Cross...donating double reds is twice the wait time as with whole blood. So 4 months between with the Red Cross. I've yet to be able to do double reds, but would like to give it a try.

You could also find 2 different unaffiliated blood banks that don't share information and donate as frequently as you need to.

I work in a hospital and our blood bank does not share donor info with the local red cross.

I've never done double reds, but doesn't it take like an hour or more to do the actual donation?

That's what the old folks are always doing while everyone is working lol

I would just do whole blood for the ease of it, and then, frankly, I would try to lower the T to possibly not have to donate so often UNLESS I felt fantastic and taking less T would lessen that benefit.

So I ended up giving whole blood. No sweat. But when they gave me the finger tip pin prick to test my hemoglobin levels, they were too low for me to give double reds. How long does it take for ones hemoglobin levels to get too high on .75 ml of cyp a week?

PS, the consultation snacks and juice at the end were pretty lame as was the company in the "15 minute time out room" lol
