How has TRT changed your life?
I am wondering how TRT has changed your life? If you want to go in to details about symptoms before and after, and specifics that would be great! If it has or has not helped all your symptoms? Do you ever regret it? How long have you been on TRT? I am interested to hear both the positives and negatives it has brought.

Pre TRT I was dead tired all the time, zero libido & nothing motivated me to work out at all. I also gained about 30 lbs & couldn't lose it.
After about 10 weeks of TRT I have a ton more energy, libido is great & I have to be near death to not work out. The 30 lbs I put on is slowly melting away.
The only regret I have is not getting diagnosed sooner.
What signs & symptoms are you having? Are you on TRT presently?
Do a search, I remember reading a few older threads about this.

Made my wife a whole lot happier She's at her sexual peak I guess (35) & lets be honest, after eating the same crackers for 11 years, & having low T, the desire to have sex was just not there on my part. Love her to death, & she's beautiful, but hormones are everything when it comes to sex drive, & it just wasn't happening. Now, I'm good to go every day or even multiple times per day. Momma happy, everyone happy!
Also has me in the best shape of my life. Working out has never been a problem, but actually getting results shure is nice.

This damn bulge in my pants won't go down! Seriously though, 5 weeks now. Always have been somewhat built, but in the last 2 to 3 years, i've been weagk compared to my former self, my physique has just been somewhat flat although I workout 4 times a week. I've now have filled out, and strength slowly is returning. A little more aggressive, but channeling that aggressiveness into work which I seems to be accomplishing more during the day. Wife's hands are on me more and she is jealous because she wants something that will put a little more muscle on her now -lol. At 50 years old, I feel like this has been a gift.

Read the sticky on how long things take to change...it's really very interesting and there's now enough clinical studies done on the effects of TRT on men to have statistical significance.
The libido increase is short lived for most men unfortunately; it has to do with the initial increase in Dopamine as a result of low levels when a man is Hypogonadal. At some point the body gets used to the increased levels and libido returns to normal.
TRT is a game changer and there is just on argument on that front IMO.

Mine was tumor related so I had no choice. Thank god for TRT and modern medicine!
And for this forum and the great friends I've made here!

Around Christmas 2011, I took my older kids to coffee and informed them I was suffering from depression, and taking medication to deal with it. Self confidence was off. Sexual desire was there, but ability to perform was rapidly waning. I had to drag myself to do things i previously loved. Oddly, the gym was an important outlet and my physique remained very good. (The only time i felt okay was post workout.) Around February my wife suggested I get my Testosterone checked. It was very low and I immediately started treatment. Within two months of treatment I was off the depression meds. Today, I'm my usual self. Life is good again.

Thanks for sharing guys! It is great to hear from others that are/have gone through the same same thing that I am and many others guys out there are battling. I am just about to start treatment, but I wanted this thread to be about your guy's experiences, not my situation. Keep the stories coming, they are very helpful when looking at both sides of the equation.

About 2 years ago, I knew something was wrong with me. I went to my doc, told him my problems with my libido, etc. I had also finally got back in the gym after a passing the bar exam, going through a bad break up, and was making zero progress. I told him I thought my testosterone might be off. He drew some blood, sent it off, and I came in a week later. My doc looks at me and said my test was something like 230 and, "if you were under 200, we might do something, but 230...nah..."
So, I took him at his word (he's my doc after all - he should know right?!?!) and did literally everything I could to raise my test. Even if it was anecdotal (i.e., avoiding lavender scented stuff - not kidding), I did it. I got in great arobic shape, but could not put on any muscle mass. 8 months ago, I was retested at a men's health clinic here in Dallas and my number total test came back at 190.
Keep in mind, I was 32 when I had my first BW and was 33 when I went in the men's clinic for retesting.
Now? I don't have emotional roller coasters. Not making a joke when I say there were nights when I would just lay in bed and stare at one of my guns wishing I had the courage to eat it. I'm way more even tempered and confident now.
And I literally stopped thinking of myself as a man before I got on TRT. I know that might sound a little odd, but trust me. I got to a point where I didn't think of myself as really any gender - I felt like some neutered eunuch. I've always loved the fact that I'm a dude (the ability to piss anywhere, any time, alone makes this awesome), but I didn't feel like a guy. I just didn't.
And I sleep so much better now that I'm on TRT. I actually feel rested if I get 7 - 8 hours. Before, I could sleep 10 hours and still just feel run down.
This stuff saved my life. I'm convinced of it. We talk a lot on these threads (been out for a couple months due to family stuff - I'm back now) about the physiological need of men to have proper testosterone, but hormones also play a very important role in our psychological well-being, too. The biggest changes for me probably haven't been the physical ones - they've been the mental ones.

TRT changed my life.
I went from being the depressed guy, overweight, no life goals, dropped out of school, no sex drive or want for a girlfriend, living in parents basement.....
to having energy, living life, making short and long term goals, getting in shape, back in school, a sex drive, and although no GF right now....I've dated and know it's just a matter of time. Still with parents though....but guess got to put up with that for financial reasons right now.
Best thing that ever happened to me and I wish it happened years earlier but it's never too late to start feeling good.

Everything everyone has already shared- the physical, mental and psychological benefits are exactly what I have experienced along w/ friendships w/ like minded guys here.
I can add that TRT has also helped me in my recovery from a progressing 10+ yr. narcotic addiction and 25yrs of street drug use. With addiction being an obsessive/ compulsive disease- my focus is now on something that is improving myself- physically and mentally. And, this may sound odd to someone thats not been there- the ritual of prepping the pins- (it used to be w/ something else) I choose for me now 4 pins/ week- 2 Test sub q and 2 hcg ), staying on an injection schedule, having to remember to order supplies, having a firm workout schedule, goals, etc. has helped me alot and become part of my new life as I continue to be clean and recover. Oh, the boner's are great too! I thought my weenie was half dead from the drugs, turns out it was low T

i think all these guys covered it but instead of telling u how TRT changed my life ill show u..
first 2 pics (before TRT) 26.6%BF BOD POD
last pic (12 months later) 9.9%BF BOD POD
im sure u can fill in the rest.. its a no brainer..
id also like to note the difference between before and after were not made by effort in the gym. if anything i actually work out less now than i did then. i just couldnt accomplish anything with free test of 7.3 (8.7-25.1).
my dietary knowledge has grown exponentially which is also an area that needs to be maintained with high priority..
also i now maintain free test of 25-35 (usually closer to 35 is where i prefer it to be)

For me, I started going through some unexplainable changes in my late 30's. I'm currently 46yo, so I'd say it was at/around 38yo when the symptoms started occurring. Physically, I had noticeably lost any definition and muscle physique that I had been accustomed to. My strength had decreased considerably as well. My energy had decreased, along with appetite, libido, you name it. My life was changing in front of my eyes and I had no explanation with what was going on.
Then came depression. I couldn't put my finger on it either. I was successful, married, and doing all the things I always planned on doing, but for some reason I had this void. Then came anxiety, and other issues that were starting to effect my professional life. Of course, the first thing the doctors did at Kaiser were put me on Anti-D's! It only took a month or two on that shiat to know something needs to give, and it would be up to me to dig deeper to find the root.
At that time, I went to my GP and insisted we find out what the real problem was. Truthfully, at that time, I didn't even think of testosterone or any of my other hormones being the culprit. Back then, I really had no clue about hormones or the endocrine system, and how it could adversely effect one's entire lively hood. My GP ran my testosterone and it was in the 200's the first time, and then a follow up lab was something like 190 ng/dl.
Wah-la, the first phase of my recovery process began. My protocol (like many) started with Andro-Gel, and .... Well, that was pretty much it. Now, where it went from there gets a little convoluted, as I started seeing unstable results with the gel after approx. 5 months. However, it did enough for me in the beginning to know that testosterone replacement was God sent!!! ... But, as I soon discovered, that was only one 'key' variable in a multitude of many, which needed to be addressed if I was going to achieve the wellness I desired. At this particular juncture of my life, I was ALL IN, committed, and doing what it took not only to restore the best parts of my youth, but to improve upon it!
Kaiser's response to the gel stability issue was to pull me off for a month to see if that helped. That was when I found this place, and also got inline with a qualified physician/clinic that could treat me effectively. Again, it became a full pledged commitment once I saw the light! Like improving my guitar skills, I became fascinated with health and hormones, and intrigued to learn and improve myself in this area. The crazy thing is that so many people are just fixated on testosterone. Granted, it's a major variable, but there's soooo much more happening in the body than just that one hormone! It's been a lot of work, trial and error, and research out the arse, but I have no doubt that I will see this journey as probably the best investment of my life.

In my mid 40s I became terribly depressed. At work I couldn't do anything on my own, only when someone asked me. I had no motivation. It was only a matter of time before it became a problem. My workouts were terrible. I'm a fit endurance athlete and I'd suddenly become very weak. Walking up a flight of stairs made me tired. My libido was still good when I wasn't too depressed to be interested. From what I've read it is not uncommon for the libido to be the last to go. As near as me and my doctors can determine, I have both some reduced pituitary function possibly due to TBI, and reduced testes functioning due to a tumor I had earlier. Whatver the cause I had no idea it was low testosterone until I went to a doctor.

My story is similar but different. I was heavily into bodybuilding and 3 years ago I did a Cycle of Test C. I felt awesome when I was on the cycle. (500mg/week Test C) After the cycle things slowly started to go down hill. Last year I had my hip replaced due to major osteo-arthritis and my hip no longer functioned. Since my surgery I've felt like crap. I knew my body was recovering but everything was going down-hill. Pretty much knowing I was suffering from Low-T I finally took the plunge to get my levels checked. Low and behold I was correct. I started TRT only 3 weeks ago and so far I feel AWESOME. My workouts are going great, I've already started leaning out, and my libido is thru the roof. So far one of the best things I've done for myself in a long time.

Before TRT I was "angry dad". I had serious mental fog. After getting close to dialed in my kids and wife say angry dad is gone. So the best benefit has been the improved relationships and ability to deal with life (crazy stuff that happens every day).

Forgive my ignorance, I did a search on TRT...what is it and how do I get it? I am currently using a test supplement called Extreme P6..I'm on my second week and not sure what results will come for a 50 yr. old trying to get into rip shape. How do I get TRT and what is it? Thanks.
