hCG Mixing with Less than Ideal Needles
In the hCG stickie it says to reconstituting 10,000IU’s of hCG you "use a larger bore (i.e., 18g) needle, and transfer your bacteriostatic water into the vial with the freeze dried hCG powder."
Well I have been unable to get my hands on a needle of that type, and I am needing to mix my hCG earlier than expected, so don't have a week or so to figure out an internet site that can send the right equipment. The largest bore needle I have is a "BD Integra Syringe" at 3ml 23g x 1". It has "Retracting BD Precision Glide" needle. Whatever the hell that is. Can I make this work?
Since it is only 3ml, and I need 4 ml, I will do two transfers of 2ml of bacteriostatic water. I figure the same needle will be ok for two draws, right?
And since it is 23g, the draw and push will be slower, but since we are talking water here, not oil, it probably won't be a big deal, right?
This is no biggie, right?

Use any needle you want to transfer the Bac Water.
For 10K hCG use 4ml BW for 250iu at .10 on the slin pin...UNLESS you're reconstituting 5K at a time. If so, then use 2ml for 5K for 250iu at .10 on the slin pin.

Yeah I prefer to use a 25 g needle (I already have a couple of boxes, 23 g would be about the same) it does less damage to the septum of the HCG bottle than a big harpoon and allows me to easily add the BacWater in a gentle fashion as compared to a 31 g where you really have to take your time to keep it from coming out like a pressure washer.
PS I use the 5000 iu Corian HCG and also dilute with 2 mls bac water...as the "wise one" said....all hail MickeyKnox!!!!!
