    Anastrozole or Tamoxifen????

Im about to go do my clinical hours right now at the VA and will be telling my Doctor to write me a prescription for either Anastrozole or Tamoxifen .. Last monday, I began injecting 200 ml every 3.5 days ( my protocol is 175 ml/week) and Im noticing a slight bloat on my face and a little itchy kind of, therefor I want to have Anastrozole or Tamoxifen on hand. Question is which one would be more beneficial?? i would be starting myself on .25 every 3.5 days. Thanks guys

Pet, little confussed, you have been around here a long time? Anaz and tamox two different animals. If your looking for anti-estrogen, anaz is the most common med. Why are you running 400 per week? You must be running a cycle?? If memory is correct you are a Juv diabetic? Have you had BW done recently? If so, would be helpful to see?

I've been here on and off, not as much as I would like to ofcourse lol Yes I am a type 1 diabetic which occurred within the last 3 years when I was in the Army overseas. I've been able to stay in great shape, blood work has been great, I check it every 3 weeks ( since all I do is draw my own blood and drop it off at my work).

As of two weeks ago- @ 175 ml of test C/week

    TESTOSTERONE - 802.02 ng/dL (range-241-827)

    HEMOGLOBIN A1C/HEMOGLOBIN.TOTAL- 3.3 ( range 4.2-5.8)

    FOLLITROPIN- <0.3 Low (range-1.4-18.1)

    LUTROPIN- <0.1 Low (range- 1.5-9.3)

    FERRITIN- 193.9 (range-22-322)

SEX HORMONE BINDING GLOBULIN- 32.74 (range-17.3-65.8)

    THYROTROPIN- 2.097 (range- 0.55-4.78)

    THYROXINE.FREE-1.44 (range-0.66-1.73)

I decided to "blast" i think its called for 10 weeks at 400 ml of Test C a week. It's been about 2 weeks now since Ive been on 200 ml twice a week (=400 ml/week) and have noticed the past couple of days that my face feels a little bloated. When it comes to anti-estrogen stuff, I have really never looked into it.. But I know I have Anastrozole, Clomiphene, and Tamoxifen available at my wish. I've heard some people use Tamoxifen while on a cycle, but I know the most common fix for Bloat and such symptoms to be Anastrozole or Aromasin .

a few things... i dont see E2 being tested... do you have the numbers? That is likely causing the "bloat" you feel, b/c you have jacked up your Test level, your body is seeking equilibrium and is jacking up Estradiol as well. Only was to stop that is with an Aromatase Inhibitor (AI)... most common one being Anastrazol (arimidex ).. Tamoxifen is a totally different substance, not an AI

Ah my mistake, it was anastrazol and aromasin not tamoxifen lol.. Yea the VA doesn't test for E2 so I will have to find somewhere to test for it.. But in the mean time I guess i doesn't hurt to have anastrazole on hand .. Would .25 every 3.5 days be good?? thanks

Totally makes sense Bro, again I know u are knowledgeable, thats why your question thru me for a loop. As Bigboy stated, water retention/bloat is prob the culprit, in which case Anaz would be the most likely proper course of action. However, as you have heard here a milloin times and as i could atest too TWICE now, it is easy crashing your E2 by taking too much anaz. It really is a strong med, so start very slow and as they say titrate up if need be. As you know only BW will dictate how much.

petrx, just go to a Quest lab and get it tested, not that expensive... probably one of the biggest numbers you want to know, that's crazy that they won't test it. Bloat, hands/face swelling, back pains, foggy head, all signs of E2 going out of whack.

tamoxifen isn't going to do anything to bring down your circulating E2 levels. it's used specifically for gyno as well as HTPA recovery... and I certainly would not use it as a long-er term E2 management drug.

@Bullshark99- Yea after I posted the question and re-read it, tamox didn't sound right lol hectic mornings i tell you.. I have minor bloat I believe but ive also increased my carbs by 35% as well as my protein and calories so that can be part of it too.

@BigBoy67- So far I've only felt a slight bloat in my face, but I don't know if its from my increase in food and sodium intake or because of the Test, I'm going to talk to one of the guys at the lab and see if they can maybe see about checking my E2 some how or Im just going to check out Quest Lab as you recommended.

@HRT student- Yea I meant to type aromasin not tamox lol I know they use that for PCT and stuff .

Thanks for all the input everyone, my doc gave me a blank prescription so I wrote in anastrozole 1mg tablets, Albuterol 4 mg tablets, and Test Cyp.. This should be fun..

Petrx at a minimum go with .25mg adex 24hrs after injection. You very well may have to add another day in as well but it's a start for you. Remember a normal Test cycle of 500mg a week the usual adex dosage is .25 eod.

Yea that was my plan to start off with .25 mg every 3.5 days which is when I inject. Im only using 400 ml/week.. If I decide to bump it up to 500 ml/week, I will probably throw in a extra .25 of it. Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.

@BullShark99- 3 more years and Ill be able to write scrips haha
