    Hair loss...in eyebrows. Hypothyroidism?

I was reading something the other day and found out that one symptom of hypothyroidism is loss of outer 1/3 of eyebrow hair. Kinda freaked me out since 7mos prior my mom asked me what happened to my eyebrows when she saw me for the first time in 8 months. Didn't think anything of it at the time but scheduled a blood test for tomorrow. Was going to wait until march dr visit when I was going to get bloods drawn due to my Low T suspicion. Both afflictions carry similar symptoms so hopefully this is the cause as it is way easier to treat.

I was wondering if any of you with hypothyroidism had a thinning of your eyebrows. If so, did it grow back after treatment? Mine isn't bad but wouldn't mind being back to normal.

You need complete hormonal and thyroids labs run...read the sticky on finding a TRT Doc and you will see the labs you need.

    Thyroid should include:

    FT4
    FT3
    RT3
    Thyroid Antibodies

There are many symptoms, rarely does any single symptom definitively indicate a specific disease or illness.

Fortunately, thyroid is one of the less "hokey pokey" things and if you have overt hypothyroidism then it will show up on blood work. If insurance covers it, get at least the free/total T3 and T4 as well as TSH and antibodies.

Yep, eyebrow thinning was one of my symptoms as well, and it was accelerated when I started dieting (before being treated). Happy to say that my eyebrows are back to being big and bushy again.

If you are legitimately hypothyroid, the most noticeable symptom relief will be in the fatigue department. Good luck on your tests!

Yes, low thyroid can cause low T in men.

Thanks for all the replies. I am going to get a full thyroid test as well as all the other tests mentioned in the sticky.
