I'm around your age & size (46, 255 @ 6 foot). With your experience & strength I'd say this shouldnt be happening per se. You obviously can handle the weight you're using so I'd have to write it off to over-training maybe? Is the pain localized in the actual muscle(s) or are the joints involved in the pain also? I do chest on Monday's too, but never include another exercise due to the intensity. If you think about it, your Tri's are getting worked twice on the same day with your routine. I save Tri's to do with Biceps & forearms together on another day. Tri's & Bi's is the only day where I work two different muscles. Every other day concentrates on one group like back, shoulders etc. Might want to try this, as your body may need more recovery time. How's your fluid intake? I hate to say it, but it may just be age related too. I'm always dealing with aches & pain, but I just try to work around them without complicating the injury. I've been dealing with a R/C injury for months now. Ice & Naproxen Sodium (sparingly) can be good friends I've found...

    Thanks for the reply Bro.

I will try separating the work outs to see how that may change things. Not hurt I am just sore and yes it is taking me longer to recover is the problem. Yes age may be part of it. Maybe I will try taking in more protein and try some Glucosamene, hopefully that may help also..
    thanks for the reply

I'd be interested in seeing your bloodwork. Just because things are in range does not mean they are optimal.

Tas............long time no talk to bro!!!

Your ? Im almost 51, and train at and above what you currently do (Im also 246lbs currently @ 6'3")

I have found that a good ole bayer asprin really helps me during and after my workouts.
Something else I have found that works very well is a product called Extense (yes the natural male enhancement) You will find that the herbs in this pill are all about increasing blood flow, and I can tell it really gives great pumps during workouts.
I dont see any change in Mr Happy (still hangs low and to the left) but at a buck a day, its a cheap supplement, and helps me out with soreness

Like API said, it sounds like it could be overtraining. How are you mentally when it comes to working out are you fired up to go or are you a little fatigued to begin with? How long have you been on your dose of TRT? How often do you switch up workouts? I'd be curious to see what the rest of your weeks workouts look like. I always would tell my clients, there's a good sore and bad sore. Only you know the answer to that one. DOMS usually sets in from my experience anywhere from 24-72 hours even after almost 30 years (43 years old 6'0 240lbs.) of weight lifting. You said you took a week off? How often do you do this for yourself?

Let me explain myself when I asked about your TRT protocol. After years of using gear and then just using OTC supplements, when my Dr. put me on 200mg. Test Cyp weekly, I got in this mindset of "Holy Crap. I'm on gear" and I was going to take advantage of it and push myself more than I had been. After a couple of months, fatigue was constant, both physically and mentally. I was trying to push myself back to my gear using days and my body couldn't take the intensity. I had to dial it back a bit, lighten the weight and take breaks when needed. I had to learn mentally it was OK to tap the brakes.
