Would love some advice and help. 33 year old with very low T

Hi guys, first time post even though I have been doing quite a bit of reading. I'm 33 years old, 6' and weigh 305lbs. For years I've been steadily gaining weight and while I don't have the best diet and exercise routine I am very active and eat somewhat healthy. I couldn't understand my consistent weight gain.

I've had sleep apnea since birth and after all these new sleep studies have been showing just how important sleep it it began to answer some of my questions. I don't sleep very well and I'm constantly tired, want to sit down all the time and can't even stay awake while watching TV but when I did sleep it wasn't quality sleep. Anyway, been on a cpap machine for a while and my sleep got better but the symptoms didn't go away like I thought they would.

I go to get some bloodwork done and found out my test levels were 198. Apparently that is beyond low for someone my age. The Doc thought the tests were wrong and had me take the test again and it came back the second time at 202. He tells me I have low T which was surprising because I still have a good sex drive but after reading found out it was much more than that. It explained my symptoms and he gave me some options. Since I don't have insurance decided to go with the injections. He put me on Test 200, 1/2cc shot every two weeks. The Doc as well as the reading I did said it would take a few weeks to begin noticing the difference. I'm not sure if it is because my base line is so low but I noticed the difference the next day.

Here is my problem. The Doc I'm going to isn't trying to get me into the median or high end for my age. He is simply trying to get me over the low range number into the 325-350 area which is still below average for an 80 year old man. I'm in my prime and the average number for my age is the 600-800 range but he refuses to increase my dosage. He also refuses the information I gave him from the sticky on this forum with showing the benefits of HCG .

So now I have to take matters into my own hands which I have no problem with except for the fact that buying without a prescription isn't legal, there are a million sights out there looking to scam money either by ripping off or using fake products. I can't afford to go doctor shopping since I don't have insurance. I just wish I could ask you guys to give me some advice on where to buy test 200 and hcg but know it is against the rules.

I've committed myself to fixing my medical issues. I realize my body is in this horrible cycle. My sleep apnea and lack of sleep causes weight gain, my weight and lack of sleep causes low t, low t causes weight gain. I don't know what came first, the chicken or the egg. All I know is I have to do something.

I work hard, do some light construction and work with concrete. I average 50 hours a week and stay active. I am very knowledged in health and know what a healthy diet consists of and have cut out all carbonated drinks, sugar and most flour products. I drink massive amounts of water and still not losing weight. I know I'm on the right path, just need some help getting going.

    Thanks!!

    "eat somewhat healthy"

#1 sign of delusion. I know because I was there. Fix this first. I can tell you right now your nutrition is lacking.

    Regarding testosterone ...

You should aim for a level around 650 and take it from there. This is midrange and I'm almost certain the recommendations from endocrine society. To aim "just above bottom range" is freaking nuts. It's defensive, poor medicine 99% of the time.

Personally, I like the idea of 2 shots per week. 2 shots per week would get you nice, stable levels and you almsot certainly can use 100mg total per week or less. I'm a fast metabolizer and supreme aromatizer and with more frequent injects I'm already injecting about 1/3 as much testosterone as when I was on 1 shot per week. 50mg twice per week is a good starting point. If your SHBG is mid range or hgiher, you'll probably be able to inject less. Remember, more is not usually better when it comes to testosterone!

    Regarding HCG ...

Some docs won't touch HCG. The FDA has been coming down on it. Your doc already appears to play it very defensive and conservative. Don't expect to change his mind.

If fertility is important to you, HCG should be important to you - that or going off TRT and finding an alternative. Otherwise, HCG doesn't always make men feel subjectively better. It certainly makes HRT more complicated, so without a good doc it very well might be more harm than good. Not only that, but HCG is far more expensive than testosterone. TRT is cheap, and money seems to be a big factor for you.

My nutrition was certainly lacking, not because i didn't know any better but because I wasn't making the effort. What I was saying is that I am very well versed in nutrition. For the last 3 months I've been consuming <2000 calories daily, high protein, low saturated fat, no sugar, little or no flour products and starches, with a lot of greens and a little fruit and supplementing some fiber. As for liquids, basically water and unsweet green tea. No carbonated drinks, nothing with artificial sweeteners. I've lost about 20lbs in the past 3 months and have added muscle mass while decreasing fat. My health overall is world's better than it was not too long ago but I'm still morbidly obese. I can feel a difference from my diet, I can feel a difference from the testosterone but I still don't feel like I think I should. My expectations may be too high but my testosterone is still very low.

I'm not worried about fertility and if the results are mixed with HCG then maybe you are correct. Last night I decided to go off the prescribed dosage and went to 1 CC testosterone and do one shot per week instead of the 1/2cc every two weeks. So I'm doubling dosage and frequency but the frequency of every two weeks was bringing me back to baseline then up to minimal levels. This should keep me around 500 with increases up to 600. I was going to try this for a few weeks then get labs but I'm open to suggestions. Ultimately I want to find the right dosage and frequency that keeps me in the 600-800 range.

I don't want to be a body builder, don't care much about building muscle or anything like that. I just want to feel good physically and mentally.

FYI, I wasn't always overweight. I was 185lbs and about 10% body fat until 23-24, very athletic and played baseball in college and was an all district WR in High School. It was like overnight I started gaining weight and it didn't stop. I'm not blaming low t, it was a combination of working in an office and poor diet that got me there. So I know I wont feel great physically until I lose a lot more weight but I'm working on that and I've made a lifestyle change but getting my test levels where they are supposed to be will certainly help. The mental feeling, lack of depression and just general well being that I've experienced from the dosage I've been taking I want more, I know that isn't where it ends. I don't want a slight feeling of well being for a week then feel depressed for a week. I just want some consistency and mental outlook that I once had. I understand I'm not 23 anymore but it isn't like I'm 80 either.

It is against the rules and you are still fishing.

Please don't ask or suggest again my new member friend.

Now, go find the right Doc who will prescribe for you.

You should know that sleep apnea can and will cause Secondary Hypogonadism.
