Thumbs down just had the worst dr's visit of my life.

So, as you all know, i went to the dr's today. I decided to go with the female dr I mentioned in my other thread. She did not care about any of my symptoms, basically said I was crazy, and refused to order any good bloodwork. She said that she wouldnt order any thyroid or testosterone because it was outside of her scope, and she kept chastising me for taking 10,000 units of d, and told me to only take 1,000 despite me telling her how much 10,000 has helped. She also did the same thing regarding my b12 intake.

she ordered a vitamin d3 test because she wanted to prove im an idiot
    she ordered a b12 test...same thing
ordered tsh and refused to order anything else
and cholesteral and cbc because my platelts are low

she told me to stop trying to worry about thyroid or testosterone, and that muscles aren't important(despite me telling her that i feel like shit)

I told her that all my labs are old, but at 18 i had 270 test, and she said that is perfectly healthy and as long as it's in normal it's fine....
It didnt help that I brought my newer labs with a 470 test and a 535 test.(by newer i mean jan 2010 for 477 and 10/2010 for 535)

she told me she wants me to submit my old lab work because she doesnt want to run ''repeat tests'' on normal values...wtf??? You should always run updated tests.

she gave me a referral for an endo but i am losing hope here....i have horizon nj health medicaid and am pretty sure ill get another bullshit dr who doesnt care.

To top things off, my dad, who i brought with me to the dr, is chastising me for ''wanting steroids and taking too much d3''

also when she did my testicle exam she claims she didnt find anything, but i persuaded her to give me a script for a sonogram..is there any radiation in sonograms? idont want to risk that lowering my test?
also she squeezed kind of hard and now my testicles are tender do you think she caused any damage.

If anyone knows any good endos in nj who take horizon nj health i really would like your help. thanks. Im not even going to bother getting the shitty blood work she provided.

Your doc is seriously misinformed and you need another.

The site sponsor is opening clinics nationwide so you can check their advertisement here if that works for you.

Dr. Scott Greenberg is a doc I would have confidence in if I lived in central jersey. I've seen him for prolotherapy for my shoulder and he's very into hormone therapy / life extension. Google Dr. Scott Greenberg. Magaziner Center, Cherry Hill. Trying to get my brother to see him actually as he lives that way.

call his office and see his view on hormone therapy so you don't waste your time.

    Use the A4M search here:

    http://www.a4m.com/directory.html

to find all the docs in NJ. These should be "hormone friendly" anti-aging docs. Then call each one and ask about the Horizon insurance thing, before making an appointment.

Geeze, I thought you were bringing your dad to help stand up to the doc? Seems like he switched sides, which is crappy of him.

i feel foolish because the primary doctor they originally set me up with was part of an anti aging clinic. I changed to this moron bc i figured she would be more reputable. I doubt any endo would treat me, right now my goal is to just get the labs since they are covered by my insurance.

in his defense he did try really hard. He said ''could you atleast order the testosterone to humor him'' the beetch said no there is no clinical need and it is not routine -_-. She told my dad it would give me prostate cancer and aggression.

I think lowtestosterone.com does all the labs and everything for the monthly price. If you contact them they are good at getting rihgt back. You may be able to get compensated by your insurance co after you pay but Im sure it varies from co to co.

Call your insurance provider on Monday and see what their process is for submitting your bills in this case. If your allowed then it's a non-issue and see who you like. And the testosterone -prostate cancer link has been debunked....

Sorry you had that experience. It is, unfortunately, all too common.

    That doctor is a moron.

I would urge you to find a good doctor and go that route rather than just finding a random endo who is in network. Endo's are not TRT-focused nor quality of life focused 99.99999% of the time.

i am currently on medicaid now. I am not working now, taking time off to study for the gre. I also have migraines which makes working hard. It is hard to go somewhere out of network. I doubt the insurance would let me submit bills, if they did that then they would just let anybody be in network lol. I remember when i had expensive insurance that was 1200/month they had no orthopedics near me, and i asked if i could see someone out of network..they said no rofl.

with medicaid the appointments are free, so seeing the endo won't hurt HEY THEY COULD RULE out diabetes!!!! lol jk.

this guy is in my network...he was originally assigned as my primary doctor, but i gave the other dr a chance...gonna switch back to this guy...never met him though

Unbelievable. Really sorry you're going through this. Certainly, as mentioned, fire that doc and find another one. It took me several tries to find a great doc.

also wanted to mention ,she told me not to read the internet anymore(heard this from many moronic drs) and also when she was telling me to stop b12 i told her im not going to stop something that has changed my life and has made me feel way better and she said that's not how medicine works and im damaging myself. I told her to run my blood work and she wil see that my b12 and d are in the normal range, and she said ''that proves you don't need it'' the beetch had an answer for every thing.

so should i go for the sonogram? i know xrays give radiation and sonograms just use soundwaves. it wont damage my testosterone right?
