My IGF-1 took a nosedive! Any thoughts?

Hi all, been away for a while in maint mode and I just got my latest lab results, so I 'm checking in.

Since I began HRT back in 2010, where my IGF-1 numbers were 117, they began climbing:

    Aug 2010- 117
    Feb 2011- 164
    Jan 2012 -152
    July 2012 -166
...and now in my most recent test from last week, it dropped to 105 and I'm concerned.

Is this potentially a sign of something else? Should I begin adding IGF to my regimen and if so how much and is there a particular kind?

FWIW, I'd been sick for a couple of weeks before the draw, and in fact, I'm still not 100%. This damn cold just lingers. I also turn 45 this week, so not sure how much that plays into it, if anything.

Any and all input would be much appreciated.

    Regards,

    F/T

My thoughts are that feeling poorly might have skewed your test results.

    Happy Birthday!

Are you looking into GHRP 6 also? That is supposed to help boost igf levels as well.

    Not familiar with GHRP 6.

On my last BW, my igf-1 was the lowest it's been since I've started therapy. I'm currently researching GHRP-2 and will get more BW in 6 weeks or so.

Check it out it may be a low cost option to get your igf elevated. I had success with it.

Calorie restriction can cause a drop in your levels as can just plain getting older, unfortunately. Nolvadex can also decrease your levels. You can look into the peptides as mentioned or also see if your doc will write you for Sermorelin, which will help with your levels as well.

Sounds encouraging, however am I correct in understanding it's about $200+ per 1mg? Just curious because I'm paying out of pocket and that's definitely out of my range.

Through a clinic, for Sermorelin and GHRP-2 in a multi-dose injection pen that delivered 240mcg total per injection (this would last 40 days @ 1 injection per day only) they wanted $495. Ridiculous. Much cheaper to go the research route.

EDIT- btw, after 6-8 weeks, I'll be getting some BW to check levels and see what these peps are doing. I'll pop back in here and post igf results.
