Is free T over 20 harmfull?

The Low-T Clinic has agreed to increasing my weekly dose in increments. Increase 5mg then measure Free T in 4 weeks to ensure it is not over 20. If not, increase by 5 and measure again in 4 weeks. What's the danger in it rising above 20?

Last blood work was 450 total and 15 free. Dose increased to 150.

Check blood again next week. I already take approximately 2.5 mg anastrozole weekly.

One needs to understand the ratio between Total Testosterone in relation to Free Testosterone.

High Free with Low Total isn't a real concern.

High Free and High Total...like over the reference range...is a problem.

One can't sustain supraphysiological levels for long before some really nasty sides kick in...the body wasn't designed for that.

Thanks! What nasty sides are you referring to?

2.5mg of anastrozole per week is a lot. I would be concerned your E2 is very low or you are taking way more testosterone than your body is designed to run at.

We say it a lot, but more is not better. At some point, you get more side effects and no improvement in symptoms.

I would also prefer to ask the doctor to switch to 2 injects per week before increasing the dose.

Thanks HRT. I cited the wrong mg. Sorry. I take 1/2 a tablet, so approximately 0.5

See... That's why you guys are such good sources of information!

As for two injections... I go to the Low-T clinic. Good clinic, but two weekly injections would require to co-pays
I've not yet found another source that understands TRT in the Dallas area.

Are you saying you go to the doctors office once every week to get injected? You know you can teach yourself this very easy or even use sub-q insulin needle that is tiny

Yeah, Broham, I am trying to get there. I am a little nervous about self-injecting IM. Going to have to man up at some point. I start self-injecting HCG as soon as the HCG arrives in the mail. Thanks to so many on the HCG diet fad the insurance companies are not covering HCG and try TRT clinic will not inject me. My insulin needles arrived today. Once I get past the sub-q jitters I will be looking to conquer IM. In the mean time the doctor's office is,trying to find my dose sweet spot and monitoring my blood every 5 weeks as my dose increases. At the same time, though, I feel like this is dragging out too long at 5 mg increases every 5 weeks. At 150 now and appear to be headed toward the 200 level. I would rather make the jump and monitor from there...decrease dose if necessary.
