    TRT and making a baby

just got blood work done this morning and i'm waiting for the results. Just finished PCT a week ago and I still have no libido at all. My concern is if my testosterone is low and I have to go on TRT would that effect my fertility? I know I should still be fertile but would TRT make me less fertile as in have to try harder to make a baby or no effect?

As I understand it you could be less fertile because of TRT, a sperm test would keep track how the swimmers are doing...definitely want to be on HCG and you might consider HMG and possibly clomid.

Many a man on TRT has fathered a child. With TRT you are basically inducing Secondary Hypogonadism and hence HPTA will be suppressed but as long as you add HCG to your protocol to keep the testes functioning it very well may/can happen.

Read the stickies at the top of the forum.

    And WELCOME!!!!

Your body doesn't fully recover in a week... it's more like months for most men...

In the same boat. Wife and I are going to do IVF after 8 yrs of trying naturally. Just start TRT 150ml of Test E a week (75ml 2x weekly inj.) 3 weeks ago and now doc started me on 1000iu of hcg 3x a week. He actually wants me to go off the Test for 3 mths so I can rejuvenate my sperm. What does everyone think? Should I stop Test? Is 100iu's 3x week too much? Any advice would be great.

BTW - since started trt ive napping everyday after work (very sleepy). Is this normal?

I don't think doc should jump around so much on your treatment...now that you started TRT I think you should stay with it for at least 3-6 months to see what it can do for you...needing a nap is probably just a temporary thing, it will probably be the opposite and you'll have more energy...you're just too new to TRT, it takes 4-6 weeks of initial time to get up to speed.

Guys get their gals preggo when they are on TRT...at one place you said 100iu and another you said 1000iu of HCG...with TRT I'd do 250iu on MWF and without Test I'd consider the 1000iu 3x/week.

I had already started TRT process 1 mth before my wife and I finally committed to doing IVF so this is why doc said to get off test and start 1000iu 3x/week. So you're agreeing with my doc to get off the test e and just do hcg 1000iu 3x/week for 3-6mths. What are the typically results in total test and free test for hcg monotherapy? Doc says testosterone will increase with just hcg but not as much as with test e. Also says my E2 will increase as this was really low with me.

Your Doc is right, natural production will increase but nothing like exogenous testosterone .

The doses of HCG he has you on is fairly consistent with fertility protocols...I've seen higher...much higher in fact.
