Is HCG just as recommended during a testosterone gel trt?

A family member of mine (65yo) has just started trt. His doctor put him on the gel form but I know there was nothing mentioned about hCG .

Would it be a good idea to somehow introduce this to him? and if so at what dose do you think would suit his age and therapy?

I don't know the dose of gel he is using or even how it's measured in that form lol. (whatever the norm is I guess).

Anyways the best thing he could probably do is nag his doctor about it.

Yes. Most doc's don't though as they are not educated toward its uses in this aspect.
Normal amounts. 250 IU's x 2 or 3 per week. Dr. Crisler recommends a daily low dose actually.
Visit the HRT Forum and read the sticky threads to get more educated on TRT. Refer your friend please.

I'm about your family member's age and I'm taking Androgel 1.62%, two pumps daily. I've just started to inject 250iu hCg EOD. This is within the recommended range dose of Dr. Crisler's protocol and it seem to be having a very good effect on me. From my knowledge, the gels prescribed in the USA are of equal doses. The only difference is personal preference and what a person's insurance will pay for most economically.

Keep us posted on how your HCG dosage is working out... after I get back from surgery I will be starting on 100iu EOD and going from there. So far I feel pretty good considering... my energy is fine etc... but I'm seeing signs of Atrophy of the boys so I'm gonna add to my protocol. Interested to see how your higher dosage works out. I don't know if this is really a thread hijacking but I feel a need to respond and ask a question. I'm taking this dose - 250iu EOD because I've been on TRT for seven months without it and my stones had shrunk and atrophied. I finally began hCG at every three days for a month and just last week got my supply and began the present protocol. Things are bouncing back - so to speak - and that was my immediate goal. Now to a steady protocol.....

I think I'll continue 250iu EOD for a few more weeks and then either go to 250iu every two days or 100iu every day. I'm really not sure. I'd be curious what success others have had. I'm going to begin another thread with this question.

If that's not a good question then I sure would like to see you post one!!! I think your confused regarding the overall basis of this forum. We are here to help one another and offer feedback that we discover through out own personal use. How would this man bring the hcg question up to his doctor who doesn't understand it's use whenever the patient doesn't understand it either? He's trying to better his health, pick him up...don't knock him down.
