    1st blood work test results

Hello my name is bobby, I am 27 years old 6'1 190lbs and have recently had my test levels checked results came back 460 total and 9.2 free.... Regular physician amd endocrinologist both say those are good numbers. I thought free test was more important and 9.2 is low endo. Said they only look at that for obese ppl. but I have many symptoms of low test from what I've read up on. Low libido, muscle fatigue, under active thyroid "which I've been on .75 mg of levolox. For 5 mo now and still is not helping" I'm very much interested in doing TRT to see if it may help, so I'm not exhausted all the time. I also have plenty of exercise 5 times a week 45min to 1 hour " but i have to push myself just to finish and its never been like that only over the last 5 months have i noticed all the changes. I have a well balanced diet and take a multi vitamin every day. Any suggestions?

Yes. Post up your BW here and include ranges. Let us take a look. I'm confident we can make some suggestions that will help you chart a path forward to better health. Most doc's don't really know hormones and it sounds like you're being treated like a number. Now, I'm not saying you need TRT but you need a better evaluation. We may see something here that they don't.

    And welcome to the forum!

I'm more interested in your thyroid that testosterone .

Nutrition and thyroid can have a profound, positive impact on testosterone and more importantly well-being.

Just saw your bloodwork. Are these the only 2 thyroid tests you had done - TSH and free t4?

That's quite a stretch to think this is all that matters! But I do not expect much from the typical endocrinologist.

Also, I am not familiar with "levolox" can you please tell us what the active ingredients are?

Have you been tested for thyroid antibodies or other diseases, most importantly hashimotos (not a rare disease at all)?

HRTstudent thanks for the reply, yes those are the only test my doctors have given me. What am I missing that could help me understand why I feel the way I do? When I was at the endocrinologist yesterday she felt around on my thyroid and said that it didn't feel hard or anything.... And sorry it was levothyroxine is what I've been taking... I was checked 5mo ago when all my problems started and my TSH was at .62 very low my doc said I was on .5mcg for 2mo and was checked again and TSH was 1.23 my doctor increased dosage to .75mcg I have been taking that up until my last BW test that was on Monday and TSH jumped all the way up to 3.352 so on paper I was told everything looks great with increase in thyroid production but my body has not felt in different all test to date have been done with primary care physician. I took it upon myself to seek out a endocrinologist who I meet with for the first time yesterday. And she like my doctor said all my numbers looked good. She did however do her own BW test yesterday and changed my prescription from .75mcg levothyroxine to .88mcg synthroid

75189 - I am very confused by what you have written. You want a lower TSH reading. Not a higher reading. Ideally your TSH should be around .8-1.5. Your doctor upped your dosage from .75 to .88 to lower your TSH. However, you said in the beginning that your TSH was .62 originally. If that was the case then I don't believe you should have been put on synthroid in the first place.

Did your doctors tell you that you have hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism?

Agree with the guys above. Op, hypothyroidism causes hypogonadism directly. TSH is a weak indicator but still an indicator of a potential issue. I'd suggest a full thyroid panel: maybe TSH, T4, T3, FT3, FT4, RT3, T3 uptake and antibodies. A more modern range for TSH is actually .3 to 3.0. Visit www.stopthethyroidmadness.com and read up a bit. It's a great site to learn from.

Also know that elevated TSH can will eventually lower Iron levels. And low Iron can elevate TSH = catch 22. Low iron will cause fatigue, lethargy. You can read about that correlation on the same site. Iron, in part, is what transports thyroid hormones in your body.

Kelkel just got done reading up on hypothyroidism from the link you provided. It was very informative! I will be able to tell the Endocrinologist what I want next time instead of letting myself get dragged thru the motions..... Thanks again
