Question Is anyone happy on 200-300 mg test cyp every other week?

I know that 100 mg per week is preferred, and some people even do 2-3x per week. However, are any of you guys getting an injection every OTHER week and doing well? I've read a lot about the half life of test cyp, mood swings, hormone instability, etc. I'm just curious if it actually works well for anyone, or if everyone has these problems.

Also, since the half life is stated at ~8 days, doesn't that mean that a 200 mg shot would still have about 100 mg after 7-8 days? From that view, it seems similar to 100/week, but I know it's not that simple. Can someone explain it further? A graph that compares weekly to every other week would be great if anyone has one.

    Thanks!

Testosterone Cyp injected IM peaks at about ~72 hours and has ~5 to 6 day half life...8 days is stretching it.

Knowing this, why do we want huge swings in serum levels only to aggravate aromatase activity?

We all know this is simply not a best injection and dosage practice...no need for graphs as it's fundamental.

Yeah, it's definitely not what I would prefer. I've seen 3 doctors now, and none of them seem to know much about TRT. The first was my GP, 2nd was a urologist who treats low T, and 3rd was an internal medicine doc that treats low T. Two of them have said that 200 mg every other week is standard, and they didn't want to do 100 / week. The other one just wanted me to do the topical gel instead of injections. I'm going to look for another doctor until I find one that has more knowledge about it. I've had 1 shot so far, and I go back Friday (4 days) to get my 2nd. I'll do this in the meantime until I find someone else or he lets me do my own injections. I see him again in about 3.5 weeks, at which point we will discuss self-administered shots.

Anyway, I'll see how this schedule and dosage go, but it's too soon to say anything really. Thanks! (btw, I'm in Memphis, TN if anyone knows a good doc!)

I've never met anyone prescribed every other week injections with cyp. Anyway, if your doc isn't working with you and not paying attention to details, I'd have a look at kelkel's sticky about how to find a doc.

Thanks. I just read it again, but I'm not sure how to find a good doc in my area. Maybe it was edited or it's somewhere else, but I just see the guidelines and blood work to get run. There isn't any info about finding a local doctor, unless I'm completely missing it!

Where are you located? Do you have insurance? Have you looked into www.lowtestosterone.com?

I'm in Memphis, TN (Cordova, more specifically). I have Anthem BlueCross insurance.

I'm actually looking over it now. My main concern is whether or not insurance will cover it. Also, does it matter that I'm 28? I've had 2 blood tests done (days apart, 2 weeks ago), and my total T came back at 124 and 192 (Free T was 38). I've had blood taken 2 additional times after that (once right before my first injection, and once 1 week after), but I haven't received the results yet.

    Thanks!

Print this sticky out and highlight the conclusions and have your Doctor read it. When he's done, it will only take 5 minutes; insist on at least weekly if not twice weekly injections.
