    Loosing fat while on TRT

    Even though I have been working out a lot my spare tire is starting to turn into a full size tire. I have noticed that ever since I started TRT my appetite has doubled. What are some products that can use help lower my body fat? My Dr will give me Phentermine and B12 shots, but I hate the side effects. Also I hate cardio, I would rather lift for an hour then do cardio for 10 minutes.

    What is your T levels and estrogen? If your estrogen is in check then you should be able to loose bodyfat easier than before TRT. Losing weight is all about diet and workouts. You should be able to loose plenty of bf with just good diet and lifting for an hour.

    I dont have much to offer you. Me personally, my appetite has DECREASED significally while on TRT. I am also on Pregnenolone and Thyroid meds so maybe that has something to do with it. I have BW again on the 7th and hope to get on HCG and a AI if needed then also. Maybe im just weird and have the opposite effects like others have. Keep us posted, im very curious.

    This answer will sound very simple but it's simply the truth. It may also sound like I'm being a jerk but I'm not, it's simply the truthful answer.

    If you need to lose body fat you have to diet. If you have to diet this means you have to burn more calories than you take in. If you burn more calories than you take in it means you will be hungry. Being hungry just comes with the territory of losing fat.

    ^^^^I'm not sure I understand this correctly, but...

    One of the greatest benefits of being on a TRT protocol is that weight lose happens almost immediately. The reason being is that raising ones androgen levels to normal healthy levels increase the resting metabolic rate. This in turn burns more calories while at rest then prior...think how much you could eat in your teens and not gain a pound!

    This is why so many men on the right protocol will say that the first sign that their TRT protocol was working was weight lose.

    If you're not seeing the weight lose, and considering that all else is equal, I would suspect that your protocol is not dial in correctly.

    The only way to know that is through blood work.

    You also mentioned you're on thyroid replacement - a significant role player in metabolism. How much do you weigh, what's your bodyfat percentage, and what/how much thyroid medication are you currently taking?

    Simple math: calories in < calories out

    Albeit easier said then done ;-)

    It does boil down to simple math, but if you have a thyroid condition, it is waaaaay harder to lose fat. Because:

    CALORIES TAKEN IN FROM FOOD MUST BE LESS THAN:

    1. CALORIES EXPENDED FROM BASAL METABOLISM (70% of Total expenditure) +
    2. CALORIES EXPENDED BY ACTIVITY (20% of Total expenditure) +
    3. CALORIES EXPENDED DIGESTING FOOD (THERMIC EFFECT, (10% of Total expenditure))

    For hypothyroid people -- many of whom have hypogonadism (likely caused by hypothyroidism) -- your basal metabolism is not burning nearly as much as it is for normal people. This is evident by the low body temps that are a hallmark of low thyroid. Because Basal Metabolism makes up around 70% of a human's total energy expenditure, correcting your thyroid and boosting metabolism will have a bigger impact than anything else for thyroid sufferers.

    True, TRT should definitely help with weight loss. After all, low testosterone levels can promote fat gain and it can be very difficult to reverse even with diet and exercise. Reverse this and you're on the right track. However, even if you fix the low testosterone problem, if you're still consuming more than you burn fat loss won't occur. Granted, there could be other issues...the TRT protocol might not be right, there could be possible thyroid issues and all of that but calorie intake is always the first place to start IMO.

    For me I lost bf and gained muscle. Ate a bit more and did no cardio. I worked out 3x week, for 45-60 min. Kinda lucky I guess.

    I have lost 5% body fat and did gain water weight even with low E2 due to Clomid. Muscle mass went goes up big for me and weight gain with it.

    I will sometimes cycle off so I can recover and my total weight is 15pds lower today.

    No my 10mg Anavar is a self prescribed. I would recommend research first before trying this since my condition seems to be more rare.

    Is this info located in another thread? Oh, how I wish guys would put all info in one thread. So much more help would be offered. Anyway, being one who used to be hypo, I don't care what my t level was, I was fat and staying there. Not until I got on the correct med(correct for me), did I see the fat around the waist decrease. Also, my personal guru, austinite, turned me on to green tea. No lie when I say drinking a liter or so per day is really getting the job done.

    im hoping if i start trt igain weight, not lose it....i want to be 220..i m200 now.

    Isn't green tea in significant amounts (like a liter lol) counter productive? I thought I read somewhere that too much green tea is "bad for you" (<-- lol at my deep insight).

    I'm sure that too much of anything can be detrimental. A liter is not that much. I drink decaf and it's consumed throughout the day, in addition to my 2-3 liters of water. Of course, I'm no expert, but all the articles I've recently read show no bad effects at this level. Try a few cups a day and see if some belly fat starts to melt. But, this is in addition to excersize and good eating. And, if you drink milk, try some almond milk. It tastes great and half the sugar.

    Thanks. Very interesting. I'm scratching my head over this sentence-fat burning is dependent on being caffeine naive.
    Anyway, I drink decaf due to sleep issues. It's probably not as effective, but my sleep is too important.

    I take it to mean that our bodies adapt to the consistent level of caffeine we ingest and therefore results can be diminished over time due to less of a stimulation effect.
