    Scar Tissue and Sub-Q

    Hi all,

I have recently switched to 2X a week IM test cyp injections vs. my old protocol of 1X a week. I do all my injections in my upper quads and alternate for each shot (left leg Tues, right leg Fri).

My GP expressed concern that I might build up scar tissue under this regimen and not be able to inject in my quads anymore at some point. Has anyone experienced this?

My initial thought is to potentially switch my test protocol to sub-Q instead of IM. Can anyone describe their switch to sub-Q, how the dosage/frequency changed, etc.? I'm interested in understanding what a transition and change in protocol would look like.

    Thanks!

Why not just include SQ in your rotation instead of totally switching? Also learn to do delts and glutes and you'll never run out of spots.

Thanks kel. Question - how would I rotate in SQ? Just do my same dose but SQ instead of IM?

I do SQ exclusively and never have to worry about scar tissue, and if the fat area gets scared who cares! to rotate simply inject on thigh fat, glutes fat, around the belly button fat and love handles fat. in fact you can inject in any fat on your body.

Hey bass, thanks for the feedback. How does your dosage/frequency compare SQ vs IM?

IM I was pining glutes twice a week, always got sore and swelling. with SQ at first I was getting lumps, but they went away after a while, still get them now and then, so I started spliting my injection to two spots. my protocol is 30mgs thigh, 30 mgs belly twice a week, I split my 60mgs dose in half to avoid lumps.

Thanks bass, so that is 60 mg 2x a week split into two pins on each injection day, correct?

Was that your same dosage and frequency when IM, or did it change?

    Thx again for the help.

no I was doing 160 mgs a week IM, and my numbers were about the same but RBC, Hemoglobin, Hematocrit and E2 were very high, especially E2, I had to take about 1.5 to 2.0 mgs AI each week. and yes to your first question.

Hey bass do you use the same needle and syringe for your two 30mg subq shots?

I would love to switch to subq but I have to take 200mg a week to keep my levels at the high normal range.

Yes i do, same needle. Simply fill the syringe 60mgs then inject 30 in two places.

In terms of IM and glutes and delts, I use a 25G 1.5" needle for my quads. I assume 1.5" is too long for delts - is it too long for glutes, too?

I use 25G 1" needle for my quads and 25G 5/8" needle for delts. I understand you want a 23G 1.5" for glutes, but could be wrong.

length of needle depends a lot of bodyfat levels.

I wouldn't personally want to stick my delts with a 1.5" needle, but someone with a lot of muscle might. can't imagine it's necessary though.

for subQ, I've seen people use anywhere from 25-31g. if you were already using a 31g with hcg then it would probably be simplest to just use that. it might just take an extra minute to draw the oil out.

keep in mind for subQ, the biggest injection difference is that you don't want to inject larger quantities in a single spot. the number I see thrown about it 1mL in any single spot, but some people have said they limit it to less than that.

a 1mL shot of cypionate , though, is 200mg so that really shouldn't even be of consequence because if you're shooting 200mg at one you are only shooting once a week and at that point you could do intramuscular anyways....

Did my first glute injection yesterday with one of my 25G 1.5" needles. Even though quads are basically painless, the glutes were absolutely 100% comfy. I'm still eying the switch to SQ, but, in the interim, I can stop pincushioning my quads.

Thanks guys for all the help

if you need another painless spot then try the deltoids. that became my favorite spot because it was so easy and painfree. but eventually I felt like I might have been developing the beginnings of scar tissue, like I could hear a "tearing" type sound. not pretty!
