HCG nasal spray
Hello Guys, I have a nasal spray of hcg supplied by a compounding pharmacy here in oz - 50iu/0.1ml. So you squirt a 0.1ml mist up each nostril - daily = 700iu/wk. The mucus membranes would be a good absorber I would think. My question is - could you do this with reconstituted Corion? Saves injections, and is a very easy and convenient delivery method - but would be much less costly. Thoughts?

how do you know the spray works to begin with?

an intranasal spray would almost certainly involve some sort of carrier... that would not be found in a standard HCG + water injection preparation.

Anything taken topically or intranasally has absorption enhancers. A compounder could probably do this for you. I looked up the molecular weight of HCG (about 36,000), which I would have thought was too big to absorb through mucosa, but then I see accounts of it being used this way, and so perhaps there is more to it than just size, including possibly molecular geometry, etc.
A doc was just telling me about taking oxytocin intranasally, and said in the nose, the best place for absorption was the nasal floor, and that intranasal applications wasted a lot of product consequently, spraying a mist all over, but not absorbing well but in one area. But who knows, might be worth investigating. I would suggest you call an adventurous compounding pharmacy or two to see what they think.

I can't answer that Bass. I don't know. Here is what my local compounding pharmacy quotes on their website - “Our laboratory was one of the first to produce HCG Nasal Spray in Australia since 2009. We only use real pharmaceutical grade HCG at therapeutic doses (not homeopathic) which is prepared and sterilized in our sterile clean room according to our stringent quality controls. It comes packed in a pump spray bottle which accurately delivers each dose. Each bottle contains 10ml of sterile HCG spray. (50iu/0.1ml)
HCG had previously only been available as an intramuscular injection which deterred men from using it as it can be painful and inconvenient. Our laboratory has developed a HCG Subcutaneous injection which can be administered with a needle-free injector. Alternatively we also produce a nasal spray. Both methods can deliver pharmaceutical grade HCG into the body without the need for injections. Therefore HCG can now be easily administered daily.”
I must say it is good to use. Reconstituted Corion would be much more economical, just more mucking around with bac water etc..

Thank you Angel - see reply to Bass. It sure is convenient. I was assuming absorption through the mucous membranes was good, as the compounding doc does it for his trt guys & is well up with Dr Crisler.

I have no idea. I feel safe in saying the nasal compounded spray has compounds to increase absorption (it certainly should).
Here something I found in a patent application (search the page for HCG ) Pharmaceutical composition and method of intranasal administration - Temple University of the Commonwealth System of Higher Education
There's a big difference in intranasal absorption of HCG in dogs between reconstituted HCG and this particular absorption enhancer. For you to get you 700ius weekly from homemade you would be spraying A LOT, you can't just assume because you are spraying x amount, you are absorbing x amount. This is not a study, but it's worth considering in the absence of some robust data. Hope that helps you.
