HRT for low T / Pituitary deficiency - Injection site question

    Hi,

My pituitary gland is ****ed and doesn't produce any/enough growth hormone or testosterone , I have been having tri-monthly shots of "Testosterone undecanoate 1g/4ml solution for injection ampoules" for a few years now. I used to go to the doctors and have a nurse do it, but I started doing it myself in my thigh a couple of years ago.

Last week I realized I had lost so much weight that I didn't really know where to stick it in my thigh anymore, so I found a video on youtube showing where to stick it in your ass-cheek, and I did that.

The following 3 days I had only 2-3 hours per sleep each night, waking up in a cold sweat, absolutely drenched in sweat. And then during the day my armpits were leaking sweat non-stop. There was no smell at all (I had someone check, I also have anosmia).

I also became quite irritable and had a few bouts of uncontrollable rage a few times.

This has not happened to me before in the years I have been having HRT. My question is, is injecting it into the ass somehow 'better' in that it allows it to be absorbed better or something, increasing my levels more than normal? Or did I inject it incorrectly and somehow miss the fat in my ass-cheek and then the testosterone was more rapidly absorbed somehow, thus increasing the levels way more than they should be, causing the bouts of rage etc?

Can anyone shed any light on this? I only see my Endocrinologist specialist 1-2 times per year, and this seems like the best place online to ask something like this.

Thanks in advance if anyone has any insight.

it doesn't matter where you inject, SQ or IM you will absorb almost the same. besides you have to be on high dose for at least 45 weeks or so to experience any sides, so I don't thinks its where you injected, most likely other hormones could be out of balance.

Do you have an idea what hormones? are they produced or regulated by the pituitary gland? As that is where my low-T/GH stems from, not the testicles. I need as much information as possible to take with me to my next hospital appointment.

I've already printed out that thread about how I should be having shots every few weeks and NOT every 3 months so as to keep my Testoseterone levels at a stable level and not fluctuate from high->low over time between shots.
I would have thought the endocrinologist SPECIALIST at the hospital would have known this already, so i'm already pissed off that he didn't seem to know this (or care??) and has been having me take it every 3 months.

Could this be why I have chronic social anxiety with co-morbid major depressive disorder? After taking my T-shot, for the first few days afterwards when my levels get a boost, I am much more confident and my anxiety is drastically reduced.

I also told him that I read online that even though I am no longer growing, growth hormone still plays a huge role in regulating shit in your body and that I wanted to be tested to have my levels checked and see if I can still keep getting the daily shots of that (he stopped giving me them after I 'finished' growing, and started me on the Testosterone which I now have to take for the rest of my life, but according to this questionnaire by NICE[nice(DOT)org(DOT)uk/nicemedia/pdf/AGHDA_questionnaire.pdf], I tick almost every single box, which I printed out and took with me, he gave me the blood test and said my levels came back fine.

However, it was a week later I discovered that taking Diazepam can increase the growth hormone levels in your body artificially, and the day I had the blood test and went to see him I had taken quite a lot of it to ease my anxiety for the appointment, could that not have altered the results and made it look like my growth hormone was higher than it normally is? is this worth mentioning at my next appointment and making him do another blood test? Are there any other supplements or things I might have taken that could have artificially increase my GH levels and gave incorrect blood test results?

Just saw this thread. I'm assuming you've had an MRI. What did it reveal with your Pituitary?

I wasn't told exactly, they did a bunch of scans and said it was to make sure it wasn't caused by a growth or something, and I assume since they never called me and said oh hey we found a tumor in your brain that's why, that I was fine there. or is there something else they check?

You should contact their office and get a copy of your results. Make sure on this. Pit tumors can have various effects on you from shutting down test only (me) to prolactinomas to TSH secreting tumors to GH releasing ones.

Get your results and come back with them. I've had the "tumor in your brain" speech. It wasn't the highlight of my day.

Oh, I see where you are coming from now. I'm fairly sure they didn't find anything and that the diagnosis is en.wikipedia org/wiki/Kallmann_syndrome due to my complete anosmia, but my doctor/"specialist" still hasn't given me a formal diagnosis, he just keeps saying we need to focus on treating the symptoms rather than figuring out the root cause, every time I bring it up...
