Start Test Monday!!!
Hey errr body!
I introduced myself about 2 weeks ago and also posted my blood work for advice...
I have since talked to my doc and have been prescribed test...not even sure the dosage yet, as it is the topical kind. I have read and understand measurements as far as the injection protocol goes but have no idead about this stuff? All I know at this point is that I am prescribed 2 "clicks" 2xdaily. It comes in some apparatus called "Topi-click". It resembles a deodorant applicator.
Personally I would rather use the injections as I have "heard" levels are more stable with that method. Although at this point I'm inclined to think "something is better than nothing". You all agree?
For anyone that knows about this sort of application: could u please advise as to roughly how much test this will be? Ie;60mg a week or higher?
I will know more Monday when UPS delivers it... But guys...I'm excited!!!

I mostly subscribe to the "Do it right or don't do it at all" philosophy. TRT is forever, so why start the gel when what you really want is injections? I've read plenty of threads on here about guys not being satisfied with gels and then switching to injections, never the other way around.

Your levels will be more stable with daily application of gel vs 1-2x/week on injections. Even if you inject 3x/week like I do there is a roller coaster, it's just got smaller hills and valleys. Daily application of gel does not have that problem.
If you apply the gel in the morning it mimics the natural daily rise and fall of Test levels.
I felt more normal on gel than on Test. Cyp. But after 6 year the gel was losing effectiveness. No one knows why that happens and it does not happen to everyone.
I think that this forum is biased against gel because many members have injected Test for body building before they did TRT.
Try the gel first. You may need to get your dosage adjusted a few times as you dial in. It's also common to need more Test (any way that it is adminstered) after a month or so. The 'rush' wears off and whatever natural production you had shuts down. If the gel does not work for you, you can switch.

Nothing wrong with gel at all as long as it fits your lifestyle and is effective for you. It's still testosterone via a different delivery system. Some good points by sparverius. Only thing I would respectfully disagree with is the roller coaster effect if you inject at least twice per week. Yes levels rise and fall but you should not notice it at on a twice weekly protocol.

I do 2X a week injects but didn't have any roller coaster effect even on 1X a week. I switched to 2X for longer term estrogen control.
As kel said, gels can work great. I would have done it but I was worried about transference with kids and such.

I too am worried about transfer of this stuff! How aware should I be? I recently split up with my GF of 2 yrs so no worries there. I just want to keep it safe for others that I come in contact with. Lol. I just got a funny thought...should I get myself one if those huge hamster balls to crawl inside of?

Also, what's the general rule of thumb as to when i should feel libido increases as I know that's one of the first signs of it "working"

I had no transfer problems with my wife and I was not taking any precautions. The only problem she had is that the residue tastes bad. When we had sex before I'd had a shower, I had to warn her.
I felt better on the second day. Libido was the only thing that was still working sort of ok for me when my T was low, but it did increase some when I went on the gel.
The biggest problem I had with it is that you need to apply in the morning (simulating daily level variations) and it needs to be on for 4-5 hours before you shower. So you may need to adjust your workout schedule. Axiron may be different than Androgel it that regard.
Even though I should not, I have a noticeable roller coaster effect on 2x/week on injections. But I train a lot more than most people so my metabolism is faster.
