Shortage of Test Cypionate?
I have been on Dr prescribed test cyp 100mg/week for a little over 2 months now. I'm still trying to get everything dialed in, even though I've learned a tremendous amount from following this forum.
My Dr gives me a new prescription each month for my test cyp and writes it for 100 mg/week, and specifies that the test should be 100mg/ml. My problem is that I'm having an extremely hard time filling these prescriptions. I've visited/called over 20 local pharmacies (CVS, Walgreens, Rite-aid, etc) and they all tell me they are out of stock and backordered on the 100mg/ml vials. My prescription plan mail-order pharmacy (Express-scripts/Medco) also says they're backordered with no idea of when it might be available. Several of the pharmacies have also told me they are backordered on 200 mg/ml vials as well.
My question - is this normal? I'm a bit concerned that I'm going to run out with no way no get my prescription refilled. I'm hoping for some suggestions on how to deal with this. Not sure if this matters, but I'm in NY, a state which seems fairly hostile to the whole idea of TRT.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me...

I see only major name pharmacies listed. Look for local compound pharmacies and see if they have/can make what you need. My doc found one for me here that has it for 40% the retail price of the major players.

I think the "standard" size is 10ml.
tell your doc all the monthly visits (and the copays) are becoming a problem, and is there anyway you can start coming in every three months.
This will force him to write you a bigger size, (or hopefully not a larger quantity of the same size)
The 10ml would last you aprox 3 months if you can still find the 100mg/ml
My doc writes mine as 200mg/ml, which also seems to be a more common dose.
your doc is writing for odd sizes and odd doses. this is what is in shortage. there is no shortage of test though.

I think 1000mg/5ml (200mg/ml) is the norm. Mine is from westward. That's what Walgreens and my local compound pharmacy told me. Try Costco or SAMs Club. They have better deals on this stuff. But he is right. Sometimes I think docs do that just to get the monthly payment just for a script. Easy money. Three months is fair and most insurance companies only allow 6mths anyway with a blood test to resume the prescription.

the most common is 200mg/1ml, its not hard to find it at Costco, less that $70.00 without insurance.

Strange. My Pfizer cyp is 100mg/ML. Haven't had any issues, picked up a vial on Friday.

Walgreens / 200mg per ml / 10 ml bottle. Plenty at Walgreens. Have your doctor write 1/2 ml per week. Tell your doctor you will schedule a blood test in 8 weeks if he sees a need.

I never have supply problems, just picked some up this week from my grocery store pharmacy. Sometimes they don't have it same day but always the next.

Not sure why this post comes up every few weeks, no such thing as a shortage of test cyp, never has been never will be.
