Would you start TRT at 355 ng/dl?

I'm 30 years old next month and this is my current reality. I am trying everything I can to talk mysyelf out of TRT but at this point my sex drive is nil and I'm not even sure I'm making any gains in the gym any longer. I have read a few sources that says HCG at high dosages can bring people out of AAS induced low t after years of cycling. What about someone who just has naturally occuring low t? Think this may work? Whether it works or not I should probably still give it a shot because there are no real negatives of trying.

From here on out its only going to get worse, and if 355 is the best I can ever expect to feel... Well then thats a harsh and unfortunate reality I'm not prepared to live with just yet. There has to be a way to get shock my body into producing more test naturally.

I had a full panel done last year and everything looked normal, it was just the testosterone that was low. When I was 22 I went in to have my test checked without ever stepping foot in a gym. It was 244.... If you want to ask me what my scores were for any given test just ask and I'll look them up.

Any advice would be welcomed at this point. Thank you in advance.

Not an expert, just starting trt and that's first thing my doc going to try. So I hope hcg works cause don't really want to have to do shots next 30 years but I will if hcg don't work. I just want feel good. A lot guys know a lot here, but I would say defiantly try the hcg first.

    no...

look at your other symptoms and try to determine the root cause of the problem.

your test levels may have nothing to do with it.

someone else will go into all the detail as to possibly your E levels out of range, or LH out of whack....

Ive had numerous blood tests and my test levels have fluctuated from 200 to 420. My last test showed my testosterone level at 286 and this is while I was taking 500IU of HCG 3X a week. I TOLD my PCP that I wanted to try IM Testosterone. He agreed. So now its a wait and see as Ive only been on for 2 weeks and have done 2 shots at 100mg/week.

Id definitely would try to find out why your level is low.

I'm in a similar situation as you. I'm a few years younger, but my test level was about the same (357) when I got my blood work done recently. I'm hoping to find a knowledgeable doctor in my area soon to discuss my situation. I'll check back on this thread to see if there's any updates on what you decide to do.

I'm in the same boat but my Doctor wont even refer me to an endocrinologist if I am not below 242. The only people I will be able to get advice from is an anti aging doc, which costs $600 for the first consult, or people on websites like these.

    You don't need a referral.

I was in a similar boat as you, but with worse T levels. Even though my levels were worse than yours (by a significant margin), I have repeatedly said that if I could go back in time I would choose to do a trial clomid before starting on Androgel .

Also, TRT has a lot less to do with sex drive than many people are led to believe. Libido and erections is far more than a T number.

There are some good threads on raising low T without TRT from early-mid 2012 on this forum.
