Can Anyone give me suggestions on where to begin? wanting "T" tests,
I have been active in sports and fitness virtually my entire life. Devoted to nutrition and weights along with education on both. I am not saying I am "The expert" however, I have had some success in helping others with their fitness goals over the past 25 years or so and just find it gratifying. Not unlike most of you here.
As I have gotten older, I participate in more running activities along with still maintaining a weight workout routine. I have read here very little about test therapy.
My questions are: What are the very first steps to getting started with my test evaluation? I.E. Lab Work, interpretation, evaluation to what therapy (if any) is necessary or suitable.
Any advice on getting started would me much appreciated, thank you
J.

I simply asked my Dr doing routine bw to test my t level. That wasn't a total test as some others get here but it's a good start.

I would suggest getting comprehensive lab work done first.
Most Important
Total T
Free T
CBC
CMP
E2
PSA
LH FSH
LIPIDS
Then find a doctor in your area that is either board certified in Anti-Aging medicine. (go to A4m.com and search directory) or start the process of interviewing Endos, PCPs, Family Practice docs and choose one that has done some sort of continuing medical education on the speciality and not just going on education learned by Androgel pharm rep. Unfortunatly the well trained TRT doc, PA, NP is few and far between. You can always call us at LowTestosterone.com too.

J,
You might also read those "stickys" that are fixed above the rest of the posts that start with "IMPORTANT".....they are full of info.
Here's one to get you going:

Thank you all thus far, especially LT Mike. I am somewhat at a disadvantage in that (like most I read about here) it is difficult finding someone who can read and interpret proper blood work analysis. It is almost like going to a Physician to get info on proper nutrition, so many are completely unaware. I am encouraged at the info you supplied today.
Another fear I have, is that without a Physician that knows enough about my blood work or the interpretation thereof, is that they will want to through "Test" at me just because it seems to be the proper remedy. I am calling the inquiry information you supplied thank you.
Any other additional "need to knows" will be greatly appreciated. Thank you all once again for the input.
I will post on this thread if possible my test results, perhaps you all can lend some additional encouragement.

You can spend your time worrying later. Right now, just talk to your doc and follow the advice of the guys above. First steps, first. Then, go from there. Guys like lowtmike are experts at looking at bw. So, when you get it done, ask for a copy and post it. Many docs just call and say, "All is normal". That doesn't cut it. I would consider lowt.com. They have a thread on top of page. Good luck

I started with my primary doctor and got me going. I have learned a lot from this site and now have found a new doctor that specializes in trt. Got to just keep at it.

If it were me I would contact a testing lab direct and get the results first before going to Doctor. They will email the results directly to you and you can post them here for the experts to look at and then tell you if you need to see a Doctor. I took my results with me to my Doctor. In fact I have always done my own lab tests
This forum evidently will no longer allow us to post links to outside testing labs. I have no idea why. I would tell you the name but it appears the forum owners don't allow it anymore.Last edited by jasondd1; 07-15-2013 at 12:09 PM.

I actually did respond to the thread link from LT Mike, that was the outside source I checked with. It could be they are just that busy, I don't know, however I don't have any back ups as of yet. Seems to be a poor follow up to say the least. Thank you for the effort though.
