DHEA to take --- or not to take

Hey all I have been on test c for about a month and a half and you have all been tremendously helpful with my dosing issues, so thanks again. Now my question is, should I add DHEA to my regimen? If so how many MGs a day? I'm 6' 245lbs lifts regularly and low T diabetic :-)

Only blood work can answer your question. If results show low, supplement with a micronized version. Dosage will be dependent on blood work as well. Most take 25-50mg daily.

Concur^^^. DHEA is the second most important androgen for men. In most cases if your low in T your also low in DHEA. Most men ages 30-45=50mg per day. 45-65=100mg a day. Blood work is your best guide to see if and how much you need.

if you need it, bloodwork should show it.

personally, I noticed nothing from it. there were some decent threads on the topic last year.

I had gotten bloodwork showing my levels and talking about the brand and dosage I used. the stuff was quite potent at raising my levels, but I literally noticed nothing. I stopped taking it.

my takeaway from the whole thing was this: we understand DHEA is important for both men and women, but if your levels of DHEA-s are midrange or better then it's likely not worth supplementing. if my levels were you the lower 1/4 of the range, then I would pobably try to restore them to the upper quartile simply because micronized DHEA is so cheap (maybe $5-10 a month).

I agree with HRTstudent - I noticed absolutely nothing with DHEA or 7-Keto DHEA. I'm sure it's individual dependent, but I find it hard to justify supplementing for no difference in mood, energy, libido, etc., depsite levels being mid-to-low range. Perhaps I'm missing something?

    probably not...

our bodies managed very well for many thousands of years without DHEA pills

I'd rather focus on eating better, more nutritious food than popping another pill and continuing the modern food diet
