    Basic TRT Protocol

I'm putting something together for my insurance company.
I don't want to overgeneralize, but after reading these boards for awhile now it seems that the basic TRT therapy (if you choose injection therapy) seems to consist of Testosterone Cyp administered 1-2X weekly either SQ or IM with the TOTAL weekly doses ranging from 100mg. to 200mg. hCG is dosed at 250ius 3X a week. An AI is added when BW warrants this usually at a starting dose of .25mg. 2X weekly.
    Does this sound about right.

It's a long story, but with the help of my Dr he wanted me to put together the protocol we've been working on and submit it to my insurance company. Here's the long story part. For whatever reason, and if you know the answer please help, when he writes my RX for Test Cyp 100mg. to 120mg. a week they didn't cover me for that dose. They WILL cover it if he writes the RX for 500mg. to 600mg. weekly. Basically, the fact that I'm NOT going through a bottle of Test Cyp a MONTH has raised a red flag to my insurance company. It really is completely the opposite of what you'd think.

So basically your insurance will cover a cycle, not an extra 20 mgs a week. That's F'd up.

quick answer to this is have him prescribe the 500 per week and only fill the prescription once.... Who cares what they pay for as long as your on your treatment plan.... Be thankful they cover that. Some plans don't yet.

Do they pay for only a month's supply? I found that my insurance did not cover my 10ml bottle of test cyp since it was way over the amount I needed per month, but covered a 5 ml bottle of test e. Maybe they'll cover smaller sizes closer to your RX amount?

Just a little something I picked up here on the forum. Costco has a great price on test Cypionate 200 mg 10 cc bottle for around $68. If you Depo test 100 mg 10 cc bottle it's around $78. If your insurance doesn't cover it, that's a really good price.

My RX is actually written for 600mg. per week. And it was the pharmacist at Costco who told me to have my Dr write it up so that insurance would cover it.
