Is 5mg/week of Anastrozole normal? UPDATE: Anastrover is not recommended!

I started slowly with Anastrozole based on advice here, and have been bumping up the dose every few weeks, after blood work shows that I'm still high in E2.

Last blood test: 37 pg/ml E2, and that was while taking 0.5mg/day of Anastrozole.

I am aiming for an E2 level of 20-25 so now I am taking 0.75 mg/day of Anastrozole, or 5.25 mg/week. This seems a lot higher than most people here. What might be the reason for that? I am not taking very much Test either. Just 10 mg/day as HRT.

Interesting. I think on a regular cycle 2.5 eod is the norm, but it really depends on the individual. Whatever works for you.

Sounds high to me but I am still in the learning stage. Maybe high E2 is contributing to low T? I am more interested in the HRT with Prop. Never heard of that before. Hope someone can chime in and clear this up for the both of us. Sorry no help. Interesting...

I don't know who gave you that advice but that is terrible advice. 5.25 mgs per week is like being on chemo therapy! anastrozole has some nasty side effects on bones, muscles, liver, lipids, and the list goes on... are you self medicating?

It's not based on 'advice' it's based on blood work. Dose does seem high but my E2 I still too high. That is why I started this thread! I hope one of the docs chimes in.

not everyone is the same some naturally have higher conversion to e and others have less. yes its higher then needed. normally 0.5-1mg ed-eod is enough for most.

get more blood work to make sure its not too high a dose. I find AI's may take weeks to notice decent effect ( so couple weeks should be given everytime you raise dose, to see effect before raising again.

Wow!!! 5mg a week???? Are you sure you don't mean .5 ?? And is your E2 from lab corp? I don't think 37 is astronomicallly high...it's on the higher end but not crazy and I don't think it would warrant 5mg a week....I have found that .25EOD work best for me ...it took a few weeks at this dosage for my body to adjust but it's working well for me ...based on how I feel...I will be getting New labs soon so we see what the numbers say...

But again back to you ....5mgs a week just sound crazy!!! What did your E2 start at?

I have been getting new blood work and adjusting the dose every 2-3 weeks. I started at 1mg/week, then 2, then 3.5 and now 5.

At its peak, my E2 was at 126!

Yes, I mean 5mg (5.25 mg actually, which is 3/4 of a 1 mg tablet every day).

My base E2 was 41 before I started HRT. When I started taking Test and HCG my E2 rocketed up to 126 so on the advice of someone here I dropped the HCG and tried to get the right balance of Test and E2. Now my Test levels are healthy but I have a big E2 problem. There might be something unusual going on, which is why I still hope to hear from one of the docs here.

Hey man whats your body fat %. That's a pretty stout dose of anastrozole for 70 mgs tes a wk. only time I needed 1mg a day of zole was when on 400mg tes 400 mg deca wkly with bf around 10 %. If your bf is high like above 25/30 % that can cause tes to ato to estrogen quickly, but at such a low daily dose odd!

My BF is more like 12-15%. I'm in pretty decent shape.

Well I have read a study that showed that men with levels above 35 had double the risk of heart disease. High E2 affects cholesterol too. And if I didn't take the dose of Anastrozole that I am taking, who knows where my E2 levels would be!

12to 15% pretty good. Odd but what ever it is you def want to get and keep estrogen in check. If 5/6 mgs is what it takes it is what it is. Just stay on top of bloods.

Your arimidex a prescription from a local pharmacy or something you purchased online without a script?

Also, be careful since I don't feel adjustments every 2 weeks is adequate time to make protocol changes.

It's a generic form of anastrozole bought online.

I'm thinking that's your issue cause your dose is extremely high and should have you shut down.

ID:	142182Well, the thought did cross my mind, but the tablets are sealed in a foil pack, with the right debossed logo on the tablets, etc. I really don't see anyone faking this easily, and for the price I paid it just wouldn't be profitable anyway. But if I can find another source, I will try it just to eliminate this possibility.

Did you by any chance retest E2 level when it came back at 126...perhaps that was a lab error? From 41 to 126 is a huge leap....

I just looked at a couple of my last labs and in April mind was 37 as well ...I was dosing .5 twice a week prior to the labs.
so then i started .5 EOD and in June my labs came back at 30 ....
I discussed with my doctor (who by the way didnt feel 37 was a huge concern) that I would like to get my E2 into the mid twenties range ...i express to him that since taking .5 3 times a week that a feel a lot better ...but I would like to see if a lower dose at 3 times a week will work
so now I am doing .25 EOD and for the most part I feel great now...interesting to see what my next labs say....and interesting I feel like I am getting more intune with my body I feel like can physically sense when I need to take it ....or if I have taken it too soon...

Ok, I've spent a few hours doing some research into the company making the Anastrover product. It doesn't look good. Example here: http://www.anad.gov.ro/html/ro/presa...cate.php?id=71

    Google translation:
"Recently, the European Union published several veterinary products Class Anabolic Androgenic Steroids produced by VERMODJE SRL - Moldova.
Countries that have entered the market such products are: Russia, Ukraine, Poland and Spain.
After conducting quality tests in laboratories have been established as major deficiencies:
nonconformance with the composition indicated on the package contents, etc. underdosing active principles. related to manufacturing substandard under European legislation and the use of low-quality raw materials containing chemical impurities, solvents, salts of heavy metals.
Preparations manufacturer brand management concerned will not produce the desired therapeutic effect and worsen the health of pets.
We note that the content and quality, may cause serious harm to the health of athletes."

Also a thread on this site: Counterfeit products from Vermodje

    and many similar sites.

I'll throw them out and start over on Arimidex tomorrow (at a modest starting dose, not 5mg/wk)! Thanks guys for prompting me to do this research. It's not worth taking suspect drugs.

See my update. I will start on Arimidex tomorrow on a dose similar to yours.

Can you tell me how you feel that you need another dose? Or that you have taken too much?

If your E2 levels were in the hundreds then it's probably safe to take .5mg twice per week and adjust from there based on blood work. Some base their dosage on their erections but blood work is the only sure way, especially since TRT is for life.

I get a real slight bit of anxiety/nervous feeling when it's time for my next dose and I the flip side when I take it soon I get real tired and super drained...
