Wanting to switch to IM from Cream

I was told by one of the staff members at the clinic I attend that the doc (Dr. Peggy Fishman) is very hesitant in prescribing oil esters to patients? The reason I'm wanting to switch are as follows. I'm prescribed 2 clicks 2x daily which if I'm absorbing 10% would be 140 mg. I ran out early somehow with the most recent tube (my second months tube). So I have gone 5 days without any! Plus the risk of transference and the time it takes each day to get my dose!
I know my levels would stay more level but its becoming a hassle! Plus not sure until end of this month what my new numbers are since starting. I would love to simply jab myself once or twice a week and know exactly what I'm putting into my body!
So, to my question...what to say to the doc to switch me from cream to injections? Anything I could add besides my personal reasons?
Thanks, sorry for the lengthy post

I am interested in the feedback. I am on gel. I feel injections would be easier.

Why is your doc hesitant? Is it her lack of knowledge? It's still testosterone , just a different delivery system. When it comes to selling it to your doc you really should not have to. But, let her know you don't like the every day application process and delve into how it effects you personally if you must. Kids, showering, swimming, etc. But basically that you just don't like it and want to switch to twice weekly injections. Ask her to show you how and make her a part of the process to make her feel better about it.

Make sure you know all the answers to the questions you have for her when you broach this topic. Write your questions down ahead of time and take them with you. There's nothing wrong with doing that. Just know the answers ahead of time and if she gives a different one than you expect, be ready to question it in a respectful manner. Nothing worse than leaving a doc's office and realizing you forgot to ask one important question.

You also should not be running out early. Something went wrong there. Have you had BW since starting gels? If so, how'd it come out?

200 mg per day compounding cream got me to 600 total. 75 mg test cyp twice a week got me to 1185. I have since lowered it to 60 mg twice a week. Im glad i tried gel/cream first but pinning is the way and I hate needles.

Are you able to get back on the cream soon? I have a feeling you may crash soon without anything, and you may need to wait until next blood tests for answers. As far as switching over to Im, for me the gel got me up to 550's from mid 200's, but I still felt like garbage after 2 months, so doc and I agreed to switch to Im. 5 weeks later, boom, all was right with the world.

    redhawk01...

I have been recently shipped the cream and am back on schedule. Thanks for concern and info about levels...
I'm thinking about making the switch to LOWT.com! If u or anyone u know uses their services could u or ANYONE fill me in on the pros and cons of using an organization like theirs?
As soon as I get what I payed for (the follow-up BW) I will be turning to them for their services. So any insight will be appreciated
    Thanx again

I can say this. LT is professional, and are private with your affairs. That is why you will not see any response to some questions, that is a good thing. They will answer your questions in a private professional manner.

I always disliked needles, and do not know much about them. But my doc prescribed the 25guage precisionglide, I do not even feel the stick, and not even sore after. The main thing is to wash hands prior, and use the alcohol preps. I use 2 one to sterilize the top of the vial, and one at the injection site. I will def be requesting to split the dose, and go for the 2 injections per week. If for some reason i lay the syringe down, I lay it back into the sterile package.
prior to all this i watched some educational vids on YT on how to self administer TRT injections. Plus my Doc also gave me injection training.
Oh, plus my wife is a nurse, and she just has to give me the injections.last time she noticed she did not inject all of it, and stuck me again, and I did not know, she stuck me twice till it was all over. I think the 25 guage are really good.
She has this thing about applying pressure after on the injection site, and times 60 seconds, although she has said nothing oozes, she still does it. prob helps keep it from being sore. Unless she just like looking at my butt.

Im not scared of needles and was hesitant to use transdermal but my doc wanted to go this way first. I heard alot of stories about it being messy, it smells and takes along time to dry etc. After using a compounded T cream in versa base i dont find those problems at all, it dries within 30 secs and has increased My T levels to the upper 1/3 of the range and its working well for me.

I recently spoke with another guy who used injections and didnt like them ie there effects and was using a transdermal and said it took along time to dry and wasnt increasing his T much, i told him about the versa base transdermal which he changed to and spoke with him today and he said its great and loves the fact that it dries within 30 sec and it has his levels up in the top third.

Something else my doc told me that i didnt believe was that he said he see alot less testicular atrophy on transdermal then with injections. Four months now on T cream and no shrinkage, im not sure why this is the case but maybe when T levels decline at night from the cream, there is still a need for the testicles to keep working through the night when exogenus T is low, maybe enough to prevent shrinkage.

So thats my experience and i find it alot easier and more convenient then jabbing 1-2 times a week, maybe the versa base cream is superior then the other forms of transdermals??

    cheers!!!

    Tnatious,
I am making the switch to injections from Fortesta next week. I too think it's a pain in the a$$ to apply the gel every morning, wait for it to dry & hope I don't sweat it all off minutes later. I ran out since my pharmacy had to order Fortesta once, luckily I was only out for a couple days but that was long enough to start feeling it. Much less chance of this happening with test-c or test-e.

I called my Dr. & told him my concerns with it including my wife being pregnant (thank God & HCG ) she's terrified that I will transfer it to her. That was all he needed to hear & told me to come in for my first injection & he'll send me home with a script for test-c & see me in 4-5 weeks for BW.

I am a big believer that all men respond differently to TRT treatment. I've never heard what your Dr told you but I began to see testicular atrophy about two months after starting TRT, I began treatment with Axiron then changed to Fortesta. Thanks to a script for HCG from my Dr testicular atrophy is a thing of the past for me.

Forgot to mention after the switch, at 6 weeks my levels went up to 770. I feel that for me, that is my zone. Good luck in your quest, and I think if Low T is affordable to you, they should be of great service. One stop shopping is always great.

I hate needles, scared of them, TRT as a big leap for me to get over it. I'll stick all day long before I use gel.

First, there is 0 risk of accidentally exposing someone (my wife and kids)

second, IM has pretty much 0 impact on my life, 5 minutes (if that) twice a week and that's it, done. Even when I screw up and get a little owie, who cares it lasted 10 seconds.

yeah your so right, if you want to get it down to a science, and really want the full benefits, pinning is the way to go. Plus all the way around your saving yourself some cash. I just cannot picture myself spreading on a cream, getting into my hobbies, working in the garden, whatever, and sweating that stuff out, and then hugging my wife, few weeks later she starts growing a beard. Plus I got dogs, and they smell that stuff, and will do anything to get to it..........They would turn into wolves with red glowing eyes...........LOL

Everyone is different whatever works out for you

How do you figure? Its a personal choice. I believe it or not feel better on gel. And doesn't raise my estrogen as much
