How long will it take to level out?
Hey guys..
I'm new to the forum after finally posting my sad tale about how stupid I have been allowing my levels to get all wacked out and some bad doctor on top of it all...
But I am finally on the beginning of the right track and wonder if anyone shed some light for me.
My Test level was over 1500 for a longer time than I want to admit...out of sheer stupidity..
Finally I reduced it twice and now am starting 30m2xaweek..
How long will it be before accurate levels will be on a blood test?
I'm looking for a new doctor and need to get a fresh start for sure.
thanks for reading...this forum is a huge help!

I am assuming 30m is 30mgs test?! it takes about 4 weeks minimum.

Thanks for the response Bass. I had been taking 200mg a week for a year and have sky heigh T levels and a host of other levels that finally are back in the normal range after donating 2 pints of blood.
I brought down my injections about two weeks ago to once a week at 100mg..I am going to break this down to 50mg on Sunday and 50mg on Wednesday using a thin 29 gauge syringe. (hope I got these numbers straight).. Does this sound like a good plan to you?
I am looking for a good doctor in my area and bringing down the levels and then will start..
I'm 56 years old, 172 lbs 5 11..
thanks again and I really look foward to getting all the right tests and the right doctor on board.Last edited by TestingMe; 08-09-2013 at 01:52 AM.

Between the wacked hormonal levels and the effects of too much Hematocrit and other levels, finally I know why I've felt like crap..I know it sounds completely moronic and there's no excuse..but with the heart stuff and all, and the doctor checking (or I thought) the levels, I really lost my way..
It's literally the biggest mistake I've ever made..I pride myself on being careful and smart in my life and boy, when I make a mistake, I really do it...
I'll be nervous for some time until I get everything further checked out..
But getting the Hematocrit and other crap down to normal ranges was first and was literally feeling to be a true emergency...I never felt so bad, even before I needed open heart surgery..
If I escape unscathed from this, I promise to donate blood for charity sake and do good things to pay back my good luck..
humbling really..hope all this confession helps someone avoid making the same mistakes.

Don't be hard on yourself, you'll be fine. Good idea splitting your dose to twice a week, this will help with rbc, hemoglobin and hematocrit, also with e2. Do you have recent BW? If so post it all with ranges.

I'm hard on myself because I've missed out on life to a large extent for over a year..I do things but damn...exhaustion..and I thought i was depressed..I saw a therapist...didn't help..I took SSRI's made no difference...and now...duh...it's intense and it's amazingly good news but i'm still also reeling and realizing that this is sometimes how people die ..from stupid avoidable situations..
I have blood test results from today but just basic stuff...the Red blood count, hemoglobin and Hematocrit finally came down to normal ranges after 2 pints of blood ...I am donating one more next week and they will be at my normal baseline finally.
Good news..my Vitamin D level is finally normal...guess the pills work..lol
I didnt pick up the results today just got the numbers over the phone that I asked for..
I need to tell my cardiologist when I see him in a couple of weeks the blood tests I want checked and with that in hand, I will see a doctor who can hopefully prescribe the Test so I have it legally..but I am wondering how they do that if the levels are high to start.
Thanks for reading and posting!Last edited by TestingMe; 08-09-2013 at 01:55 AM.

so let me get this straight, you were self medicating? either way you need to be honest with your doc, tell him what you been doing so he knows how to treat you, but first you need to find the right TRT doc.

Yes, I was started on Androgel and she wouldn't prescribe injectable but I got it on my own and did it and she followed up and checked all levels (I told her I was injecting)(she is knowledgeable but won't or can't prescribe injectible for some reason. I moved to a different town and then the heart surgery, waited a couple of months after, and started up again, and the cardiologist was aware (but didn't prescribe). I had planned to get this all right but it got out of hand..The cardioloigst was ordering the blood tests and as posted, never put the high levels of Hematocrit, etc together with them causing all the symptoms and instead added heart meds to treat them...Until he woke up about a week ago.
Not proud of this story and know how bad it is.
But hopefully in 3-4 weeks the T will level out to whereever it goes at 50mg 2x a week unless anyone has any better suggestions..
Since I've been suffering for so long, I really want to get this stable for a little while at least before having to go completely off in the event I can't find a doctor.

Bass, on a different note, regardless of how I get it (don't worry I have seen the Light..lol) but I am more than a little curious how I might be feeling when T levels are stable..Hard to imagine feeling right but I am dramatically feeling better since the two blood donations...Going to find a place today or by monday for that last pint to get me to where I was.

if you were self medicating I am assuming you can afford to pay out of pocket. I highly recommend to look into LowT.com and save your self time, money and further health problems. they have great deal for new patients, so give them a call and get your health back on track.
