clomid
hello, i was diagnosed with a low test count and doc prescribed clomid. i am new to the world of supplement/ etc, so dont know much about this stuff. I am also 5 weeks away from a show and was wondering if clomid will have a negative impact on my precontest prep? i am not taking anything else currently except fish oil, ec stack, glutamine.

The study that I read last administered 50 mg of Clomiphene on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for 90 days. That protocol seemed to restart the majority of patients successfully. I'll see if I can find it.

This is the one....
International Journal of Impotence Research - Clomiphene increases free testosterone levels in men with both secondary hypogonadism and erectile dysfunction: who does and does not benefit?
Of the 272 men with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism and ED, 228 (83.8%) completed a 4-month course of clomiphene citrate, 50 mg orally on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Our data showed that clomiphene citrate can successfully stimulate the hypothalamus to cause increased testicular testosterone production. Stimulation with 50 mg of oral clomiphene three times weekly may be diagnostic as well as therapeutic.Last edited by austinite; 08-14-2013 at 03:52 PM.

You take it everyday? And do you monitor your estrogen levels too? And why doesn't anyone use nolvadex ?

I haven't had any side effects. I was on injections for 5 years so this is a big change. I feel good though, can't really complain. Never had any depression issues then or now. But, I don't have the same level of energy that I had when I was on injections--it's noticeable. And I've also lost some strength but overall I've maintained most of my muscle for the last 6 months despite an injury that kept me out of the gym for 2 months. I'm starting a bulk now so it will be interesting to see what kind of progress I make over the next 7 or 8 months. My guess is that it's not going to be easy to build more muscle with a 350 test level. Anyway, good luck with your TRT journey.

thats really interesting! you made a successful switch from injecting test to oral clomid after such a long time of shut down. a positive example like that will make a lot of people consider switching.
however, 50mg ed seems a rather high dose for long-term use. one of the studies i found mentioned only 25mg eod or 50mg eod depending on response. in that study, they were aiming for a total T of 500.

I'll admit I was scared as hell making the switch-- I had no idea what to expect!
In my case I think anything less than 50mg/ed would be pointless. I know that there is not much long term data available so I guess I'm just basically trusting the doctor on this one. He says that he has many patients that have been on for years. He actually suggested that I should continue it indefinitely instead of going back to injections after we have kids. Doubtful I will want go that route but we'll see. From my conversations with him and reading his work, it appears that Clomid is his typical TRT protocol.
