is shippen a jack of all trades?
wanted to start a new thread to specifically ask this. im willing to pay for shippen instead of wasting more time with drs who are useless..but i wanted to make sure that shippen actually would be able to help.
I think my thyroid or adrenals could be an issue for me, and was wondering how knowledgable shippen is in this area?
I thin ka big reason no dr has found an answer for me is most of my numbers are all borderline bad...370 tt is low but not insanely low, tsh at 3.87 is bad but still in the outdated normal range..you get the idea.
Does he also have experience with younger guys? The uro i just saw told me that even if my tt was below 100 he wouldnt help me bc of my age..how irrational is that? He was willing to help guys in their 40s with higher levels than mine -_-

when I couldn't find a TRT doc, out of desperation I went to a clinic and paid allot of $$$$$$ and more $$$$$$ just to get my life back on track, but unfortunately they screwed me up even more, they prescribed way too many medications that I didn't need just to make money, they didn't give a shit about my health. I wish LowT.com was around back then because I could have saved allot of $$$$$$$. stop dicking around and get started with LowT, and if you think you still want to look for a private doc that's fine, but at least you'll be taken care of.

$600 is pretty steep compared to Free offered at LowT!
remember there is also,
follow up BW
medication
supplies
the unexpected! God knows how much this will cost!
make sure you keep these in mind when looking for reasonable treatment cost. I say this because I been there. I hope he'll give you the scrip so you can buy your meds from any pharmacy!
wishing you the best, and please keep us posted.

free? how is low t free lol..lowt is 2500 per year.
If he doesnt work out ill look into low t but for now im happy with my choice
i want him to rule some things out before having me go on trt also
bw is covered by insurance, and insurance covers cyp..so all that is really not covered is hcg which the supermarket sells me for 80 bucks for 2 months...and idk how much adeex costs but im hoping dont need it as i have no desire to take it.
thanks for the good wishes
600 is for the first visit, and then followups are 175-300...i think that's fair compared to most drs who charge that much and are not knowledgable really.

low t is a nice program, however the problem is that you pay for everything in advance. If everyone pays 2500 bucks they cant tailor your program...like order special bw you may need. Shippen on the other hand, reviews all the bw you mail him, and then sends you a script. Shippen has some pretty strict rules..i had to write him an essay(lol) and i need to mail that, all my bw and a self addressed envelope to his office by september 3rd which is over two months beofre my appt.
it'll be so refreshing going there with the opportunity to LEARN something, and not feeling nervous like i need to bring a million research articles so my dr doesnt say outdated things about trt.
bass do you use low t man?

No because I got lucky with a good dr. But if I didn't have one, I'll definitely get with LowT and save myself the headaches.

I looked into a couple of "big" name docs in my neck of the woods. While they certainly know their business, they are way too expensive when alternatives like LowT exist. I don't mind paying a premium for great service (as long as it is deserved) but at the same time I don't want to personally put their children through college either. The $600.00 for Shippen sounds VERY reasonable compared to some of the quotes I got. And he is without a doubt at the top of the food chain in the trt/hrt business.

You do not pay for everything upfront. You can pay for a full year upfront and receive a free month when you do so, but most opt to pay $199 per month.
As for tailoring a program, why can't we tailor a program? Yes, there are a set number of blood test included in the package. If the individual wants extra blood test he can request one for $99 or if his doctor feels an extra one is needed (rare) it is added.
The guy you're talking about may be a great doctor, but to legally RX any testosterone in the U.S. your physician is required to put his hands on you at least once per year, meaning you are legally required to have one face to face visit.
Last thing, basing TRT strictly off of blood work, the numbers, is an absolutely terrible way to gauge TRT. Numbers can be a guid but in the end that's all they are. Symptoms are what matter.

If you go to his office and tell HIM what he needs to do you can enjoy your low T and screwed up thyroid for the rest of your life. When going to see one of the BEST at something you DO what they say because they do know wtf they are doing. Please don't be dumb and tell him what he's going to do because you read on the interweb that clomid is bad.
With Crisler I did somethings I did not think would help but he solved ALL of my issues so just do as they say because they do know MORE then you will ever know.

completely agree man....600 isnt really anything extravagant for a first time visit especially since followups are 175-300. I called a urologist, and his consultation was 300...and he isnt shippen!
@lowt.com Listen man i appreciate what you guys offer and i'm not knocking the program, but for now I just think shippen is a cheaper option, and he is right here in PA. I have nothing against lowt.com, and for people who have the resources and don't have a top dr like shippen in the area, I think you guys are great. At the end of the day, I'm sure your docs are top notch too, but I also know shippen has the feedback to prove his results..lowt is still a newish company.
@ryan, I'm not telling shippen to do anything, I'm going into MY dr's appt and saying what I feel comfortable doing. I have every right to do so especially when I am respectful, and am paying 600 bucks. If that's not your style that's fine, but I don't feel comfortable taking clomid, and I have a right to politely say so, and see if hcg for a test is an option. Many drs choose not to use clomid..lowtmike says hcg is better.
If he decides not to see me, that would be bad because im looking forward to seeing him, but at the end of the day I will have taken charge of my health and isuggest you do so

To take charge is to listen to what he says, good luck anyway man I am just glad I can LISTEN and try what the doc says because it did not take me all this time, seems the people having the more issues are the ones that know it all. Good luck man and I hope he does not say Clomid because then I will have to read 20+ more threads about how docs suck
