Expiration ** AFTER first draw **
My sister is an actual pharmacist. She says that a vial of any multiple dose medication should be tossed after 30 days from the first draw - regardless of expiration date. I seem to find similar information online.
I've seen tons of posts on here about using gear after the expiration date, but nothing related specifically to use after 'first poke'.
I'm on 100mg/wk test cyp for TRT. I end up with a vial of 10ml @200mg/ml test cyp that can only really be used for 4-5 weeks out of 20 week supply before my sister suggests I throw it away. I haven't talked to my doc yet, but my local pharmacists parrots off the same info my sister does.
Any word from the rest of you out there? General consensus is safe for the length of use, roughly 18-20 weeks from first poke?

no, unlike other water based meds testosterone will not get contaminated that fast. I've used the same vile for 20 weeks and no problems. just make sure you wipe the stopper with alcohol before and after you poke it.

to add to what bass says, pregnyl can be used for 60 days and does not need to be discarded after 30. I know it's not testosterone , but it debunks the theory your sis has

TRT doc gave me 20 weeks worth of Test C and never said a thing about going bad after a 60 day period of time. Use it til it's gone is my view.
Sounds like something that is made up to make you buy more product to me.

Sounds like the guy at the oil change place saying you MUST change the oil in 3000 miles.

The only issue I see happening is the break down of the rubber stopped being that majority of us inject twice per week. With smaller gauge needles for those whom inject via sub-Q, it's not too bad but those whom use 23g needles, that rubber stopper is gonna be trashed and I would assume chunks will start falling in...
This is just an assumption since I use 26g needles :-p

This is standard CYA on the part of the pharma industry.
Same with the conservative expiration dates on everything but antibiotics.

Lol. I can attest to the fact that the stopper does indeed get trashed after 20 pokes. It also gets old and dry. The alcohol swabbing helps that along. I've used half a vial, alcohol swabbed it and sealed it back up after sucking the air out. It will oxidize if you leave air in it. Needless to say I do not do this anymore lol. When you don't have a prescription you do desperate things sometimes. Chuck it because there's a date on it? No way.

I wish my pharmacist thought this was true, then I could be getting my vial once a month like what is called in for the script, they give me enough refills for one vial a month, yet pharmacy only dispenses it based on dose, so one vial is supposed to last 10 weeks.
