Skeptic of HRT
I'm 29 got blood work done by family doctor and my test levels were 294 the first time and 300 the second so I'm assuming I'm bouncing between 290 and 300 during the day. First doctor for told me I was in normal range even after I told him of weak erections and just feeling like crap with anxiety I never use to have. Quick history taking steroids on and off for a few years maybe a cycle a year doing everything right. Had a bad batch two years ago almost went crazy thought inwas going to die and was having panic attacks constantly. Finally went away after about 6 months with a year being almost back. moving back to the present I don't think my levels ever bounced back to full potential. I went to an actual HRT doctor told me I should be in the 800-1200 range which seemed crazy so I told him to start me out at 600 because that seemed safe to me. Been on them a month waiting to get first months results back. Erections are better and anxiety isn't there really maybe a slight weird feeling but nothing bad. Family thinks I shouldn't be Doing it. Need advice serious knowledge please.

Why are you skeptic, as you mentioned in your post feeling better. Dwith anything there are risks. As long as you monitor them you should be fine

Nothing to be skeptic about. Once you get dialed in you will feel great. And most feel best in the 700-900 range from what I have read. I myself could not feel a difference at my current 750 and the previous 990, so I go with less with the hopes of eventually getting off the arimidex .
All I can say is it takes time... And if you do some research, you will see there are many health benefits to TRT. Low T Mike and Austinite post articles quite often so do some searching as well as read the stickies and you will get a better understanding.
Good luck

As mentioned prior, there's nothing to be skeptical about. If you truly need TRT it will change your quality of life for the better X's 100. I don't really care what my test levels are on my BW reports, if I feel great at 600 or 950 it's all about improving my quality of life. I feel great since switching to Test Cyp 70mg IM twice per week with 1050iu of HCG per week (150iu per day SubQ) a little over 3 weeks ago. I'm having BW done in a couple more weeks. I won't be anywhere near "dialed in" completely but I won't fixate on the numbers (well maybe my estrogen lol, if I need an AI for a while until I get dialed in my Dr will script it) & neither will my Dr. He goes by how I "feel" not by where the numbers are. Within reason of course, he's a good Dr, he's not going to allow me to run a cycle or leave any levels in a range that will cause me harm in the long run.
You stated your Dr started you out at 600 because that seemed safe to you. What exactly is your protocol? What type of Test, AI & HCG did he prescribe you?

But its OK to do cycles of shit you get from a source? That's just idiotic. Normal is 350 to 1200. To say 1200 is crazy is just plain silly. Again this is why hrt will never be acceptable only to the people who suffer from it naturally. Anxiety is a common side effect of low-t. Numbers don't mean shit as well. Your body has a certain number its suppose to be at and your not at it, hence the anxiety. Your estrogen could be high as well. I had 90 to 235 test and my erections were hard as a rock so who knows.

Numbers are just something for doctors to go by so they know how to adjust.
IMO, don't get all caught up in the numbers. If I feel good at 600, that doesn't mean a thing to you. You may not feel good until you have 900. Whatever it takes to make you feel the best is what you need. Trust the doctor.

thanks for the replies. I think a lot of my skepticism is past trama from have a bad batch before when everything went to hell. for a while i wouldnt even take a vitamin because i thought it was going to mess my body up if that tells you how bad i was affected. To answer the question on my protocal I am currently on the 200mg test pellets. I was given 6 pellets and over the next 4 months that should bring my test up to 600 on the 350-1200 scale (ive seen some scales at 280-900). my doctors wanted to give me 10 pellets at 200mg but i wanted to start slow because of past experiences (maybe my anxiety from last time) and all the research i have done has suggested that the 500-800 range is the safest range. ultimatly I would like to have one more kid in the future i dont want to be dependant on pellets for the rest of my life but it seems my past inexperience has led me to this point. also i dont want to hurt my body worse by doing things stupid or not thinking things through as i did in the past so definantly taking extra care as to not hurt myself in the future. the reason i was thinking i wanted to be at 600 is because i have heard there are problems associated with higher test levels higher that 750-800. im not sure this is just from hours of research so i cannot say for sure if my data i have collected is 100%. thanks for the post and advice

also this might sound stupid and im pretty sure its from anxiety but ive been worried that taking hrt with cause sometime of brain tumor or cancer or something crazy like that. I can say that since i have been on the past month that i have felt better anxiety is not as bad and def have harder erections. im just hoping its not the placebo effect. also i was a Marine and have been in a combat zone for a year in the past so ive never had anxiety until i got a bad batch. even after war i never had anxiety mayeb a little jumpy lol bnut no anxiety

Skeptical and scared are 2 different things. It works period. I had real bad anxiety and when I got my levels between 800-1200 it all went away. My psoriasis on my elbows also cleared up. A normal to a little high test level keeps your body running smoothly. My life has been a million times better being hrt for 2 years.

That doesn't sound stupid at all, the lamestream media has done a great job for years at making the general public think this is true.

Thank you for your service to our country. I had no clue what anxiety felt like prior to my Low Testosterone symptoms began to kick in a few years ago, it's awful to say the least. Now that I am on a TRT protocol that works for me I am back to my former self & have had ZERO anxiety.

Cantrellsp, have you checked out the stickies at the top of this sub forum? There's a ton of solid information in them, that should help you with a lot of your concerns.

look kiddo, it's just testosterone it's not some space forumla from Saturn. You're just supplying your body with what it needs because for one of multiple reason, it cannot supply it's own adequately.
The reason you hear good and bad stories about HRT is because it takes time for each individual to get "dialed in". Which means some guys might feel best with a 600 test levels, while others might feel better around 9-1200. One of the biggest overlooked aspects of HRT is estrogen. Most doctors sadly do not even test for it, my own doctor told me there's no reason to test for it when it's the one factor that's keeping me from getting dialed in. Without reading on these forums i'd be screwed just listening to my doc. In my opinion it's harder to get estrogen to a sweet spot then testosterone, and most men and their doctors never try or give up.
But it's a fact that with your low test levels, not being on trt is far more dangerous, and you can find studies to back that up... let alone the shitty quality of life you'll have..

No one has died from too much test, I think I read some please that someone was tested with a TT of 14,000 and had no issues. Are you related to powerlifter??
Relax and get your mental under control, go to a physic if you have too. I had some RL shit happened and felt like I was going to die everyday and they help you work through your issues and learn how to relax.

Good call on the Psych Ryan. I needed to go to a counselor after a bad life changing event in my life a few years ago. At first I did the typical man thing & said I don't need that quack, lay on a couch, crying about all my problems BS. Thanks to my awesome wife she talked me into going. It helped me a TON. I'm very thankful I went, it's nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about. It's like going to the Dr, if you want to, the only people that know you go is the Psych/Counselor & you.
