    Holy Smokes!!

So I started my TRT therapy roughly a week ago through the Male Medical Clinic here in San Antonio.

My first blood tests had the E2, Total Test, PSA, glucose I believe, and hemo levels. After researching this site and reading a ton of info here. It seems like I need a more complete blood test performed for my check-ups.

So I decided to try and find an Endo for my next round of TRT and find out that you need a referral for every damn one I called lol.

Whats people's view on TRT clinics vs. Endo's ?

Just curious as to the boards views...

Boy, you guys are a tough crowd lol

How did everyone start thee therapy? Was it PCP, Endo's, or through TRT specialty clinics?

Just trying to spark some conversation and maybe learn a thing or two ?

So long as you're treated properly...... You can always request more blood work.
~ PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR SOURCE CHECKS ~

Most endos don't understand testosterone , because it is either not taught in medical school or taught improperly. Endos will either not know the best protocols, or they will refuse to treat you if you are low normal.

The plus side to clinics is that they usually have done the research on testosterone and know what to do, and will treat patients who can't find treatment elsewhere. The downside to most clinics s that they are only in it for the money most of the time.

If you have the money to spend, i'd say stick with the clinic as your health is the most important. it can't hurt to schedule an appt with an endo and still see your clinic as well.

I think the clinic you go to though isnt as good as some of the other clinics so maybe shop round.

If you choose the endo route make sure you call them PRIOR to scheduling the appt and ask
    1- do they prescribe injectables
    2-do they prescribe hcg
    3- do they check e2

there are other variables that ar eimportant like knowing subq injections and administering once or twice per week but ,as long as the endo does those 3 things id say no need to ask for more on the phone and bother the receptionist..you can always inject once or twice a week at home with sub q needles and lie to the endo if he/she is not knowledgable about trt.

    Great feedback!!

My clinic now was the only one I have heard of. If you know of any better, please don't hesitate to name drop.

I have to get referred to see an Endo I found out today. I called a few and all needed to be referred by my doc. I am with my clinic now for 6 months but I am thinking of seeing my primary doc and asking for a referral to an Endo or what his stance and knowledge on Low T therapies.

Don't think it could hurt to see what my GP has to say about it. If that doesn't work, I will be researching other clinics in the area and see what pops up. Are the a4m docs I believe they are called any good? Don't know much about them...

A4M certified Dr. are ideal if you have one in your area. I found mine using the local search feature on the A4M web site as advised in the sticky threads.
