    Clean eating?

So I cycled back in my 20's...mostly DD and Winny. During the PCT portion I screwed up by letting life interfere lol. Anyways that's why I believe I have the LT issues now.

So fast forward...I'm 34 about 230 now at 30%. I was at 215 about 25% 5 months ago before my surgery. I am realizing now that I want to be around for my kiddos and looking to really get back to my mid 20's form.

So just wanted to tell a bit of a back story as to why I am asking about this clean eating I keep reading about. Is it just veggies and fruits? I was solely on proteins and veggies in my 20's so I would like to hear some what the boards thoughts on what it is. I appreciate any feedback. Trying to reinvent my life and all opinions are welcomed.

It's foods you have to cook, the whole "clean" eating is somewhat bullshit and more of a crossfit / paleo bs thing. Just use you head, when you have something in your hand think "Is this going to help me or hurt me" Also the whole clean eating thing and sticking 6 different foods is going to set you up for a eating disorder and probability malnutrition as well. If you want a slice of pizza or ice cream go for it, but that should not be your daily lunch

Guessing you never ate clean before or competed in any major event.

There is a BIG difference in eating clean and not. Energy levels drop, mood decreases, bloating, ect. It makes a HUGH difference.

You can reverse all kinds of disease with a good paleo diet Ryanmcd. No bullshit here. Good solid cholesterol! Dont believe the hype. eggs, sausage, bacon. good fats goes a long way. Your bodys building blocks for T is cholesterol much like amino acids for proteins. This is why when your doctor puts you on a Statin cholesterol and blocks cholesterol your testosterone drops 200-300 points. A good paleolithic diet! google paleo. Stay away from wheat and refined sugars...these are the real culprit because they are genetically modified and cause silent inflammation and disrupts our endocrine system.

    Great article.

I put all my patients that are compliant on similar lifestyle, workouts and diets and its like fuel injector for their TRT. Some of them this is all they need to boost T to optimal levels naturally.

Isn't 95 percent of testosterone made in your testicles? I can't see this eating thing helping people who are primary

I don't know the exact definition of eating clean but here's what I have done to clean up my eating.

Look at the ingredients of the food you're buying. Does it look like a chemistry kit list of chemicals? Was it made and/or processed? Why does it have & need all these preservatives?

Basically I have stopped buying food with all the garbage preservatives & God knows what chemicals/pesticides/fertilizers in or on them. Get rid of sugar & buy as much organic ingredients as possible. These simple changes have changed the way I feel as a whole big time, TRT has helped also.

Sent from my iPhone that was manufactured in a sweat shop in China

My definition is eating stuff that is picked or killed.

I mostly eat brown rice, red potatoes, brocolli, green beans, chicken, lean beef, lean ground turkey, and last night I had some ground buffalo. I actually ate a hamburger bun with the ground buffalo but I did get the healthy life bread but still I normally try to refrain from bread.

Look at the what are you eating now thread and you will get some ideas too. Right now I am having chicken, brown rice and an egg. My version of fried rice only no frying. I did throw in a 1/2 T of soy sauce for the flavor though.

I agree and I have a TON of food allergies and Gluten is one of them so I know about this far to well lol The one thing is some people take it to far as to not go out to eat with friends or skip parties and then after weeks of eating 5 things they go apeshit and hit a buffet or eat a whole large pizza, that's the issues I see and you know it's a balance like everything else.

Here is my diet it's about the same unless I go out

    4 eggs 1oz cheese 1 fruit

6oz potato baked can tuna with mayo

9 oz grilled chicken 1 large salad

    1 60g Hydrowhey shake.

So you see I eat "clean" but you can be too OCD about it when you don't leave the house or ever go out to parties because you may not eat "Clean"

Yes but don't be antisocial because of it like I posted to Mike, I know a lot of BB male and female that will not go out do to the risk of not eating "Clean" but then after weeks of eating clean they binge on all the unclean food they should not eat = eating disorder.

Also I used Alan Aragon back in 2009 to setup my nutrition, and if I ever have a question about eating right I call his cell # he says the same thing about clean eating

"Alan has co-authored the most-viewed article in the history of the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition"
