Rebuilding muscle
Hey guys i have a question. Before I hurt my back 10 years ago I weighed 175 with about 15% body fat at 5'8". Then I got fat and flabby, weighing 230. How difficult is it to regain the muscle I lost? I'm on 100mg/wk test cyp. Is it easier to regain the muscle mass I lost or would it be like starting all over again?

It boils down to you know how to workout and know how your body responds, like building a house, if you do it 1 time the 2nd time is easier unless you have a underlying health issue. Also the test should help with drive and recovery but once you start pushing 90%+ it's more mental then it is muscles.
Diet = 80%

I agree with Ryanmcd and FRDave; I've been off lifting for extended periods of time due to illness/injury and can't believe how quickly it comes back once you start up again. Although it's discouraging to get back to the gym and lift only a fraction of what you could lift previously; this will pass... quicker than you think.
But push though it; and you'll be happy you did

Agree with the above. I was out of the gym for 4 months due to surgery. Just getting my teeth cut again as I have been back 3 weeks.
Muscle memory is a beautiful thing! It all comes back, just remember to take it slow as I just crushed my tendons in both my elbows trying to do to much to fast. As others told me slow and steady will win the race.

Thanks, I guess that makes sense. However, when you build mass the first time, do you develop new muscle fibers? And when you stop working out, do they just deplete but are they still there?

Don't over analyze, u know diet drives the car, gas makes ir run. Working out is the as but if the diet isn't there you will only get so far. Remember, doesn't get easier only harder as u get older but no reason u can't surpass what you did in ur younger days if u want to. Look at te 64 yr old woman who swam from Cuba to the keys?? How bad do u want it?

It has been 5 weeks since my first injection of test cyp, and I'm really noticing a difference in muscle tone. Both the scale and the mirror are showing my progress so far. I'm using one less notch on my belt and my pants are looser. TRT has been great for me so far. I'm 5'8" and weigh 220lbs. My goal is to loose at least 40 more lbs. My body seems to have muscle memory from when I was physically fit before I had my back surgery a few years ago. I seem to build more muscle faster than ever before. I don't know if it's due to TRT or if it's just that I hadn't lifted weights in years, but either way I'm loving it!
