    Thick Blood

Hey I'm 3 months into TRT and just got new blood work. All he checked was my T, PSA and how thick my blood was. My Baseline for T was around 270, this time it was 242. I got it on the day I was supposed to do my shot, and the results didn't really surprise me because he had me on every 2 week shots and I would notice the effects wear off after 10 days. In general my quality of life has improved significantly over the last 3 months though. Got my job back, got my girl back, gained 35 pounds back, started dieting and working out religiously again it was just those 4 days I'd feel terrible so he switched me to shots every 10 days so I'm hoping that will bring my levels up before they go down. One shot = 1ml = 200mg of cypionate by the way.

Now on to the real issue right now, my PSA went up a little bit and he told me to start taking saw palmetto. But my hemoglobin raised from 14.2 to 16.0 g/dL and my hematocrit raised from 43.5 to 48.2%. He said that if those levels raise much higher we will have to back off on the T and that there is no way for me to lower it through diet and excersise, just directly relates to my T levels which didnt make much sense since its low and they are high? Anyway I'm wondering if you guys have any advise on lowering these 2 levels, because the T has made my life way better and I don't want to have to "back off" if theres something else I can do about it.

Donate blood every 2 months & split your Test Cyp dose if you can. Donating whole blood every 56 days (that's as often as my local blood bank allows) is the only thing I know of to keep hematocrit levels from raising too high. Also a 81mg Aspirin X's 1 daily will help with "thick" blood. Staying hydrated will effect hematocrit levels as well. A gallon of water per day is more than enough to keep you hydrated. If your urine is not clear you're not drinking enough water.

I inject 70mg every 3.5 days, this equals 200mg every 10 days. This will keep your serum levels more "level" & keep you from having multiple "low" days prior to your next injection.

Just donate blood on a regular basis. Besides, Hematocrit @ 48.2 is no big deal anyway. Mine is a constant 50-52. Many TRT Docs dont become concerned until you reach 55.

simply answer the question accurately and you'll be fine. one thing to note, red cross in cali rejected me due to high hemoglobin, but the nurse said it was also because of TRT. so depending on what state you're in they may reject you if you say you're on TRT, but most states take your blood.

They wouldn't take blood if you told them you take exogenous testosterone off script though! They turn you down if you admit to anal sex even (a gay friend of mine got denied for this). I don't put anything down that would disqualify me from donating.

^^^ unfortunately when it comes to sexual activates with multiple partners STD become a concern, and you wouldn't want contaminated blood in your body or your loved one do you?! exogenous testosterone is not life threatening, in fact it may aid the recipient, but a disease may be fatal! just saying. having said that they do check your blood for all sorts of disorders and diseases anyway.

I completely understand where you're coming from but I see the bottom line as they're going to test it regardless before giving it to a patient. I certainly wouldn't want my loved ones getting contaminated blood and I'd feel just as guilty if it was mine that was contaminated but I get check ups for STD's 3x a year, am pretty sterile in my practices, and don't want to be turned down for donating or black listed for using AAS if they test my blood anyway. I respect your honesty and candor
