    Clearence rates

I am 58 years and I'm about to start Testosterone Cypionate , HCG and an AI for low T as confirmed with a full endocrine profile. The symptom complex was classical of low T. I have researched this extensively and the diagnosis of low T was made correctly (low TT and below normal Free T, elevated FSH and LH, the rest all good).

My issue is that I participate in a group sport and in the late summer I plan to be competing internationally and there is the chance that I could be tested according to IOC and WADA standards. If it were determined that I was on banned substances (all the above are banned for competition) then I and my team would be disqualified. That can not happen.

So my query is this: for how long would I have to be off TRT to test negative? I can find no site that tells me this. I have been told by others what they think ("Bro science"!) but that is not reliable information.

The reason I will be starting TRT is for the Low T symptoms and not to get an unfair advantage over others. It would be dreadful if my TRT caused the team to be disqualified.

Any information on clearance rates of the mediations and how long I would have to be "clean" would be appreciated.

Have you thought of bringing your questions to the committee who supervises and medical team who overseas the athletes? Since you have a legitimate, diagnosed medical condition and can produce all the records you speak about here, IMO, there should not be any issue with getting the answers.

Up to a 3 month detection time for test E or C. 2 weeks for test P.
But if you use a gel, you'd test normal at any time, since it contains no foreign metabolites and shouldn't elevate your T above normal levels.

^ If you disclose your medican condition, you might get an exemption. A lot of pro athletes are on TRT.

There is no TUE (therapeutic use exemptions) for TRT use when the sport follows the WADA rules (as mine does) . Their use is forbidden. No exemptions. Not even if one can prove a preexisting low T that is causing symptoms.

If they don't allow for it then, technically speaking, you ARE getting an unfair advantage supplementing with T.

In that case, the best advice is that given by Bonaparte in post #3 above. Or find another sport with no TUE.....or WED or THURS. You're still young. ;-)
