Help on what to do next.

Need help on knowing what to do next. Doctor recommend putting me on cypionate 200ml every two weeks, but decided that we should wait to get a specialist before starting. Here are my stats and all the blood work that was done, I know that I do not have all the test recommend for people to fully help, but right now it is all I have to work off.

    Age 19
Body Weight 160 (Around 13% bodyfat)
    Height 5'8
    Never used steriods
    Testosterone Serum Total 291 (348-1197)
    Bio available Testosterone 126 (128-430)
    Bio available testosterone % 43.4

I know that these are extremely low, I was wondering if my test levels could have dropped this much from being in a caloric deficit for 5 months and if there are any other options I should try to pursue before starting treatment. Any advise on what the next steps I should take would be a great help.

Were you on a caloric deficit when you took the test?
If not, how long after dieting did you take the test?
What time of day was the test taken?
    Are you on any medications?

I would definitely not go on TRT after 1 test result especially since you are very young.

Yes, I was still in a caloric deficit and am positive my fat intake was to low.
    Test was done at 10:30
No medications, but within the past months I have had to take prednisone and other random antibiotics. 1 cortico shot also. Had these for a ear drum and tear duct issue, which has still not been solved.

Both a caloric deficit and eating too little fats will lower your testosterone level.
I definitely would not go on TRT at this time if I were you.
Please wait for the more knowledgable members here to chime in.

I knew that it could drop test, but could it cause it to drop this low. The doc totally bypassed the idea of diet being the cause, but I really hope that it is because of how easy of a fix it could be. Thanks for your help totally new to trt.

I think your doc is jumping the gun putting you on testosterone , just the fact that he prescribed one shot every two weeks suggests lack of knowledge. being 19 I'd definitely wait to see a specialist. you need to find out what's causing your low T before jumping into a life long treatment. it could be your thyroid!

I completely agree with Bass. 200mg Test every two weeks is practicing old medicine and very bad medicine. I'm far from an expert but you had some big guns shot at you these months! With getting a shot of cortisone and being on prednisone and antibiotics - it would be a miracle that your system would be anywhere close to normal.

I've personally found that something as simple as a head cold or a course of antibiotics can lower T levels significantly. Imagine what a severe calorie restriction can do. Women with anorexia lose their ability to menstruate for months at a time!

I'd suggest you let things quiet down, get back to some normalcy and then run a complete series of diagnostics. At 19, time is on you side with this.

All the guys are on target here. First option is above. Check the Finding A Doc Sticky at the top of this forum. Get the first set of BW within it in a couple months. Tell your doc you want all of it, as the best way to help diagnose an issue is with comprehensive BW.
