    One shot of Nebido 1000mg??

    Hello All:

My endocrinologist prescribed me Nebido 1000mg as a therapeutically shot which should last (according to her) about 6 weeks in my system to see if my anxiety and other symptoms improve. I haven’t heard of a shot every 5-6 weeks but then again I am new to TRT. Is this going to mess up my system? Will I be unstable with so much testosterone delivery from one shot? Following are my lab work. She feels my testosterone levels are within normal range but also said that some men need more T in their system to feel better. Can I experience some gains at the gym with this shot?

    From Bayer website:

    Posology

One ampoule / vial of Nebido (corresponding to 1000 mg testosterone undecanoate) is injected every 10 to 14 weeks. Injections with this frequency are capable of maintaining sufficient testosterone levels and do not lead to accumulation.

    Start of treatment

Serum testosterone levels should be measured before start and during initiation of treatment. Depending on serum testosterone levels and clinical symptoms, the first injection interval may be reduced to a minimum of 6 weeks as compared to the recommended range of 10 to 14 weeks for maintenance. With this loading dose, sufficient steady state testosterone levels may be achieved more rapidly.

    Maintenance and individualization of treatment
The injection interval should be within the recommended range of 10 to 14 weeks. Careful monitoring of serum testosterone levels is required during maintenance of treatment. It is advisable to measure testosterone serum levels regularly. Measurements should be performed at the end of an injection interval and clinical symptoms considered. These serum levels should be within the lower third of the normal range. Serum levels below normal range would indicate the need for a shorter injection interval. In case of high serum levels an extension of the injection interval may be considered.

    Patients with hepatic impairment
No formal studies have been performed in patients with hepatic impairment. The use of Nebido is contraindicated in men with past or present liver tumors

    Patients with renal impairment
No formal studies have been performed in patients with renal impairment.

    Method of administration

    For intramuscular use.
The injections must be administered very slowly (over two minutes). Nebido is strictly for intramuscular injection. Care should be taken to inject Nebido deeply into the gluteal muscle following the usual precautions for intramuscular administration. Special care must be taken to avoid intravasal injection (see section 4.4 under “Application”). The contents of an ampoule / vial are to be injected intramuscular immediately after opening.

My thought is why are you even considering this. Is there a testical issue? Your T is low but pituitary function is fine. Have you suffered any testicular trauma or been checked for varicoceles. MRI?

Your D and DHEA levels suck. Start supplementing jump.

I am considering it because of the symptoms (fatigue, anxiety and insomia) and since my free T is too low, I figured that T replacement wouldn't be a bad idea. I also want to gain more muscles. Doctor cannot find anything wrong with me and she discarded varicoceles. She said my testicles are fine. Too dangerous to head down this road? There is vanity element to it.

A bad vein or valve in your nuts, basically. Doc's can find it with an ultrasound or or by palpation.
