Estered Testosterone vs Natural Testosterone - What's the difference

ok i was wondering if someone could clarify this for me.... so this is what ive read so far - with synthetic testosterone they have a carbon ester attached to it which allows it to be released periodically in the body this is attached in the synthesising process done by the scientists, the body then strips away the carbon ester allowing the testosterone to be active in the body to do its thing. So how does natural testosterone work then if it doesnt have an ester, wouldnt it be used up very quickly in the morning after its produced leaving you tired for the rest of the day....sorry if this seems a dumb question im just curious?

My first response to your question is that the body's endocrine system is a highly tuned mechanism with many feedback mechanisms responding to countless signals during the day and over a lifetime. Is it any wonder that in a healthy functioning individual, the body knows how much testosterone is needed - or not needed - at any given moment?

When the body begins to fail and we get involved and introduce endogenous testosterone, we can't possibly do as good a job - but we try, muddle along, and in the end do alright.

This is a very good place to begin for further information to answer your question:

Then try your best friend, Google.

Endogenous testosterone is pulsatile and diurnal in nature. It's natural to have a daily rise and fall. Exogenous test isn't thus the ester to control it's release and keep the flow somewhat consistent. Imagine the spike if there was no ester?

The missing piece to your puzzle is SHBG. It binds up testosterone and thus slows the rate at which it is utilized.

Thanks, Kel. That there is this pulsatile, diurnal process is so fascinating to me. But it mystifies me too. The body is amazing. I really would like to learn more about how it works.

Sure, since diet, sleep, stress, exercise and other factors all affect daily test output.
But you made it sound like some sort of monthly manstrual cycle. lol
