Just diagnosed with low T. Looking for advice. Not happy with my MD.

Hey guys, been skimming over this forum for the last few days and I'm so impressed at the resources and help you offer each other. I'll try to keep my questions / story short and sweet.

In the last year, hit the gym hard. Went from 290 with 25-30% BF to a current 245 with 12% BF.

Been feeling super emotional, having anxiety, no drive, zero libido. Got bloodwork done by my MD.

I have a very close relationship with him, he delivered my daughter, and has been an amazing doc for me for the last year. What he knows about HRT is very little though and I'm very let down with his prognosis/remedy.

He sent me for bloodwork, all he tested me for was Test and Estradiol.

    Test - 6.7 nmol/L
    Estradiaol - 142 pmol/L

He and myself were shocked at my low test. I'm 28. He as well as others have asked me quite often if I'm on steroids . I've never done any or pro-hormones in my life. My ability to add lean mass and lose fat is remarkable, which I'm baffled by due to the low test.

His answer was to put me on Test Cyp immediately with H C G
He didn't test for my LH, or anything else for that matter.

Why my ability to lose fat / add lean mass so well with low test?
HRT is life changing, anything you guys can tell me before I enter into this journey?

What SPECIFICALLY should I ask him to send me to get tested for in labs immediately.

    Thank you so much.

    First, request full blood work.

    FSH
    LH
    Estrodol
    Test
    Test free
    cort.
    WBC
    RBC
    Liver

etc etc....plenty of references on this site. It might be as easy as taking one pill to set you right...you might have a larger problem...you won't know till you have full blood work.

    Second,

You have to be the doctor. Read and learn and direct him. I had to leave the USA to get semi-proper treatment. Everyday Dr visit I teach him one more thing that is part of the big picture. If he is your life doctor educate him and yourself.

Do not be afraid. Trt is life changing in a good way.

You maybe in the same boat I was in, I have very high IGF-1 and a good thyroid and chit for test levels so I was always able to get strong but was tired. Test helped me some but not as much as you think for getting strong, maybe like 10-20% better on TRT dose nothing like 50% or anything nutty.

How was it for libido? I have no drive at all, haven't slept with my GF in months. Haven't had drive to chase any other tail for that matter.

I would say it helps but it's getting everything else in line like E2 I think that's a big part of it that a lot of people over look. Also cardio helps a lot I think and diet / sleep are bigger then anything else.

Best thing you can do is find a GOOD doctor if you can afford it, if not save up so you don't end up like a lot of people spending years of the only life you having playing doc and getting pissed of / wasting time trying to do it by yourself.

A good doc will have you setup and feeling great in a few weeks, in a few months you will have something that should not have to be changed unless something big happens like 10 years older gain 50 pounds etc.

*** Also get the labs done before you do ANYTHING so you know how you are before you add in any shots gels that will skew your results.
